Compact 3 band vertical Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I replaced a Diamond X-30 dual band vertical with this tri-band because I wanted an antenna for 6 meters but I didn't want to add an extra antenna and mast. It is constructed solidly and works well for a vertical on the 6 meter band. I can't tell any difference between this and the X-30 on the 70 cm band. On the 2 meter band the stated gain is lower than the x-30 but in practice I haven't noticed any difference, I still hit the same repeaters just as well. If you're looking for a compact, low profile antenna for 6m, 2m and 70cm then this might suit you, it works for me. I would have given it 5 stars except for the wire radial which is needed for 6 meters, it's a bit... inelegant.

Compact TriBander Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I have just replaced my 25+ year old Diamond X50 with a VX1000. Mounted at about 6m on my roof, the SWR is low on 6 and 2m (<1.3:1) but a little higher in the middle of 70cm.

Early days, but seems to receive pretty much as well as the X50 on 2 and 70 FM and working fine into mainland Europe on 6m JT65.

Good Antenna Time Owned: more than 12 months.
The vx-1000 is now installed about one year on the roof and it's working fine on all bands with no radials.

Not a tribander Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I bought VX-1000 about one year ago. The assembling work was easy; it took only half an hour. My first VX-1000 had high SWR (>3.0) on 144MHz. I did not see any resonant point in the band. I sent it back to Diamond and received a new one. The new one has slightly better SWR, but still greater than 2.0. It works nicely on 50 and 430MHz. This is not a tribander but a dualbander.
