Could be a lot better Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I recently purchased and installed an INRAD # 705e 500Hz CW Collins Mechanical Filter into my Yaesu FT-817. This filter made a much needed improvement in the receive quality of the CW signals. Although it helped a lot I am very disappointed in the bandwidth of this filter. In testing, it seems much closer to 800Hz wide and adjacent signals outside of the bandwidth still seem to blow through. I did a side by side comparison with my Icom 746 Pro and the digital filters in the Pro worked as advertised and were much better then this INRAD filter. This filter is better then not having one ,but, would I buy another one?? no, I don't think so.

They do what they are supposed to... Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I recently purchased the 720-F 2.0 KHz IF Filter from Inrad for my FT-897D.

I was able to give the filter a real good workout during Field Day and found it works very well. Selectivity was greatly increased while not loosing intelligibility. This is despite having chosen the narrowest filter they recommend for SSB.

The Intrad staff are also very nice to deal with.

I have placed some spectrograms of the filter in use on my website: www.ve6xl.ca

Great value AND performance Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Everytime I have used an Inrad filter in place of the name brand unit, the performance of the radio improves. Since they're not expensive it makes you wonder why the radio makers can't do as well. If I remember correctly, they started out under the name "Fox/Tango" 35 years ago and have consistantly provided top quality and excelent service.

600 hz Roofing Filters Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
Absoultely the best addition to my two Omni 6 Plus rigs that could be made. Copying close in weak signal DX and QRP'ers during contest and normal QSO's has become a reality with Inrad's roofing filters. Instructions are easy to follow..but does require some reading knowledge!

Just top notch modification to my rigs!

Did not work! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I tried the 2.4 kHz roofing filter for my Omni VI+ and it did not function as advertised. It was noisy and distorted received signals. The INRAD folks refunded my money.

Fantastic! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Owning the 920 for 3 months I was very pleased with the transceiver, comparing to the FT-847 I traded for it.But under crowded condx I felt it could be better.
Decided to order the switchboard mod plus the 1.8Khz filter, because I thought it would be a waste to put the OEM filter on the shelve.
After about 1 1/2 hours i did the job and the result is very good.
Using the two filters in cascade will eliminate the "wooly" sound of the OEM filter and noise near the receiving signal.
Also I was very pleased with the excellent service of George,Georgina and Laurie because the delay in delevery, due to out of stock and slow customs over here !
So INRAD is just top !

Much Improvement for my FT-920 Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have owned a FT-920 for several years equipped with the Yaesu SSB, AM, and CW filters, and I switched the Yaesu OEM 2.4 KHz filter with the 2.1 KHz filter from INRAD. The installation takes some desoldering and soldering, but the INRAD instructions are very clear and the job went smoothly. The filter is much better, improving selectivity and reducing filter blow-by. I am now thinking of an INRAD filter for my ICOM 746.

Best I've used Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I've used INRAD filters for a couple of years, after rather broad performance from my Yaesu filters. Yaesu's skirts are for one style of operating that's fine if it's what you're looking for. In fact, my FT-1000MP (plug in) wide filter slots have 1 KHz filters from INRAD which probably see the most use. But those are a far cry from the Yaesu filters.

I operate mostly CW here because I like it... my first radios during school were CW only. At the same time, the town of Brewster MA has now facilitated installation of wind farm data collection poles at 80 feet with antennas (after saying they'd have instruments only and were under a different by-law), but told us two years ago that PRB-1 allows them to LIMIT ham towers to 25 feet ! So, I operate alot of CW here with a tower like that on the Cape.

Wish they had a review category for towns...

Anyway, George's expertise was most useful in suggesting a plan in possible stages. I ended up getting the filters for both IFs in pairs: 1 KHz; 500 Hz; 250 Hz.

George even pointed out before I ordered that it would be best to move my 500 Hz Yaesu to the sub receiver to take advantage of it's wide skirts for finding a spot in the pileup.

Next to my (aforementioned absurdly low) Force 12 XR-5 and MP, it was the third of the three greatest improvements I've seen in 18 years in the hobby.

Super service! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
THIS IS A REPORT ON THE COMPANY AND HOW THEY TAKE CARE OF THE CUSTOMER. I RECENTLY LOCATED A FILTER ON EBAY THAT I THOUGHT WAS ORIGINALLY IN A KENWOOD. I E-MAILED THE COMPANY WITH THE NUMBERS AND RECEIVED IMMEDIATE RESPONSE THAT THE FILTER WAS INDEED FOR MY RADIO AND THEY SAID TO LET THEM KNOW IF I NEEDED THE INSTRUCTIONS FOR INSTALLING IT. I SENT MY SNAIL MAIL TO THEM REQUESTING THE INFO. TODAY I RECEIVED THE INSTRUCTIONS TO DO THE INSTALL. MUCH TO MY SUPRISE THEY SENT THE COAX NEEDED TO COMPLETE THE JOB AND EVEN THE DOUBLE STICK TAPE FOR MOUNTING THE FILTER. I FIND THIS COMPANY TO GO OVER AND ABOVE WHAT WAS EXPECTED.IF THEY HELP OUT LIKE THIS ON A USED ITEM I WON'T HESITATE TO PURCHASE MY NEXT FILTER FROM THIS COMPANY. THANKS INRAD AA8PP BOB

2.1 khz is just right Time Owned: more than 12 months.
The only filter I really like on ssb is the inrad 2.1 khz in the 455 slot in my kenwood ts-850sat. It does not have that to narrow pinched up sound and it really takes out qrm 2khz away. So if you like to get one other filter for your ts-850s inrad is the best. Joe ke9k
