With this Shark 110 I add Bass and Treble to my Audio to sound well balanced and the Reports I get are accordingly.

I noticed that the DSP110 are few and far between, replaced by the functionally, and visually, identical FBQ100. DSP110s are often found for ~$50 used, I found an FBQ100 for $60 open box which works very well as noise gate. Compressor is a bit touchy to setup. Alternative use is as a feedback killer when using to drive a monitor with integrated audio amp. This kills feedback dead, in a very portable little box!

This little device does wonders for your audio for not much money. I bought a $50.00 electret condenser microphone and stuck it on an old Kenwood MC-50 stand. With this and the Behringer SHARC DSP110 i have used it for the last 8 years with everything from a TS-130S, Omni VI+ to my latest rig which is a Yaesu FTDX-1200. Always get excellent unsolicited audio reports. The noise gate is top notch!

DSP-110 review update Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Well as promised, I have now had the little shark DSP-110 for about a year and a half now and wanted to update my first impression. The device has functioned perfectly to date. It does get a little hot so make sure it has adequate ventilation.

In the good old days if you wanted to make your audio sound better you had to purchase auxiliary pieces of gear to equalize, compress, and or generally make your speaking voice as close to what you sound like in your living room.

Today most modern HF rigs give you the ability to tweak your audio so that it sounds very good without other pieces of equipment. Just put a good microphone on the rig. Usually a quality microphone that costs even less than the OEM mic that you can purchase for the particular rig. Then set up the internal EQ and other controls and you sound great.

That is except for one big problem. Many times I hear guys with nice sounding audio, but the background noise form computers, amps and other devices in the shack take away from the audio quality. Guys are buying noise canceling headphones but what about the poor guy on the other end who has to hear all that racket with your voice.

Enter the Behringer DSP-110. This device does many things like providing a mic preamp, but it also allows you to bring the background noise down to an acceptable level. Making it more pleasurable and easier to hear what you are saying without having to decipher it from the fan noise of your other equipment.

Like I said it does many more things, but this one feature makes it well worth the small price you pay for it. I got mine new for about $70.00. I would not be without one these days. I used to have stacks of audio gear but now days I only need one or two pieces.

Sharp bit of kit Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
This is a sharp bit of kit from Behringer, I use mainly the noise gate and compressor on this unit with outboard Behringer Eq hooked up with a studio microphone for processing before entering the microphone connector on the rig.

The noise gate is very smooth and easy to use. I have it hooked up to my FT-920.

What can I say about this new product from Behringer... The Shark DSP 110 it's a great mic preamp, a wonderful noise-gate with good learning feature also the compressor is doing a great job. If this little "fish" had also a graphic EQ, it would been a complete solution for ham radio high quality modulation.

Super Box! Very smooth Noisegate Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
This is a GREAT piece of gear for your shack. Its a compressor, a limiter and a digital noisegate. Keeps audio levels the same, and the noisegate kills background noise. Retails for $99 but you can find it on line for about $70!!
