Reviews: 44MSRP: 220
Description:
The MFJ-929 IntelliTuner-CompactTM lets you automatically tune any coax fed or random wire antenna 1.8-30 MHz at full 200 Watts SSB/CW. It can match 6-1600 Ohms (SWR up to 32:1) - - that's a 50% wider matching range at a higher power level than lesser competing products.

You get a digital SWR/Wattmeter with backlit LCD, antenna switch for 2 antennas, built-in radio interface and built-in internal BiasTee for remote tuner operation.

Works Fine Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
After first receiving the unit (from HRO) it was acting "glitchy" and would have trouble finding solutions for some bands (Using a FT-857D and a 18 foot Hy-Gain vertical antenna). Finally discovered bad coax (my problem) and a defective transistor driving the first relay (MFJ's problem.) I replaced the coax and MFJ replaced the transistor and now all seems OK. It appears that I need to "hit" it with a low power carrier on repeat frequencies which means an extra step in the tuning process. With my old manual tuner, returning to a frequency after shutting down did not require a re-tune. MFJ says that the 929 remembers the last setting before you power down and the self test says that function is working, but I still need to supply a low power carrier before operating on a frequency even tho I last used that freq before shutting down.

Maybe I'm missing something (comments appreciated.) Oh well. Other than that the unit performs as advertised. I'll try to remember to post another review after a few months of use.

Very good Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Sure beats the heck out of the LDG Z11-pro.

super! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Update! after a few weeks testing:
Very fine tuner, no problems on both my antennas:
MFJ1796 and G5RV like inverted V with open line. Fast and accurate, would advice to anyone.

Nice Auto-tuner Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I've had the MFJ-929 about two months now, and it has been working very well for me. I use it mostly with my Yaesu MKV to extend the bandwidth of my Butternut vertical on 160 and 80 meters (over 120 khz on 160 meters, and full-band on 80 meters). I've also found that the digital power meter is quite accurate from one-watt to 200-watts. I have a more detailed review of this unit on my website at www.ad5x.com.
