Great for portable ops Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I bought this antenna to use when I volunteer for events that my local club supports. We recently helped a 100 mile bicycle fund raising event and my assignment was almost 50 miles away from the 440MHz repeater. I put this antenna on a 25 ft. telescoping mast and eventhough I had a 6 element yagi in reserve, the X-30 worked perfectly. I will be participating with the Chicago Marathon in a couple weeks and plan to put this antenna to work again on a 2M repeater. It is relatively compact, easy to transport and works well. Perfect fo portable operations.

Amazing First Antenna Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
The x30a is the first antenna I have ever owned since I juust got my license in September, so my opinion doesn't mean much. But in case you care I was able to talk to my Grandad 75 miles away by hitting a repeater at least 60 miles away. I have it in my atic, it is connected to my Yaesu FT-7900r and I love it!

Very Pleased Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Excellent little antenna. Well made. QTH at 450ft antenna mounted at 12ft and am able to hit repeaters 90 miles away. SWR is good on both bands, but best on UHF for me. You can't go wrong with this one for the price.

Good buy Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I have my X30A mounted atop my 65' tower for over a year and it works well. I live on the mid coast of Maine and I can work repeaters from south of Portland to as far north as Dixmont (Bangor).

Very nice Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I have one of these at 25 feet in the attic and can hit repeaters up to 80 miles away on 2 meters and 440 with 10 watts. I can get into 70 repeaters on 2 and 440 that I know of, in three states. It also works very well on 222 receive with the Yaesu FT-7800R which includes that at a separate rig's sensitivity. A deaf wide band RX rig might not work as well.

SWR is low at 1.3 or 1.4 to 1 on 2m but slightly higher on 440. The best on 440 is 1.8 to 1. I did ask RF Parts about this a couple of weeks ago but did not hear back.

These are no tune antennas. I'm feeding mine with LMR-400. If you're mounting yours inside you can use the supplied brackets to screw them to the available supports in your attic.

Excellent 2m Antenna Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
This is a great portable or fixed antenna - I can only speak for 2 meter operation - I have the capability to work at 70 cm but have not used the antenna for operating at that frequency.
It yields great reports in transmitting at both 5 watts and 50 watts using Yaesu FT-817 and Yaesu FT-857 - reception seems superior to the usual mobile whip antennas. Easy to assemble and use - I feed the antenna with 20 feet of RG-58 shielded cable with PL 259 connectors.
