Review Summary For : LDG AT-7000
Reviews: 50MSRP: 169
Description:
The AT-7000 is the ideal tuner for your shiny new IC-7000. First, it matches up to 10:1 SWR (3:1 on 6 meters), so just about anything you can feed with coax is good to go.

The AT-7000 is just 6.5" long, 6.5" deep and 1.5" tall. It weighs only 1.5 pounds, and gets its DC power directly from the radio; no separate power supply needed. The AT-7000 works with any Icom radio that supports AH-3 or AH-4 Icom antennas. This currently includes the IC-7000, IC-706MkIIG, IC-703Plus, IC-718, IC-746 and IC-756ProIII.

Not happy! Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
A few months ago I sold my Icom AT-180 tuner and purchased the LDG-7000 to go with my IC-7000. This was a big mistake.
The tuner was easy enough to connect up and worked on demand from the IC-7000 but I found that it would not tune my half size G5RV antenna anywhere near as good as the Icom AT-180.
The AT-180 tunes all bands perfectly except for 80 mtrs which the antenna is not designed for anyway.
So I am afraid that I was not happy with the LDG-7000 at all and sold the tuner a few weeks ago.
I am now the proud owner of a brand new Icom AT-180 which I should have kept from the start.

GREAT PRODUCT Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
My AT-7000 arrived yesterday and after setting up the tuner commands on my Icom 718 the tuner performed great.

This is only the second auto tuner I have had on a rig. The first one was on a FT-890 but I never used it as I was running an amplifier so I had an external tuner in line.

The AT-7000 tunes quickly, after you have established the memories for different bands and antennas.

I use a G5RV, with no balun in line. I have a very short run of coax to the tuner, not more than 15 feet. One thing I did change, I added a longer run of coax inside the shack to see if the tuner would tune better on some bands. It did, the SWR is great on all the bands now. The only bad SWR is on the high end of 10 meters. No a big issue for me.

Late last night, around midnight I emailed LDG with a question about the tuner. 15 minutes later I checked my email and I had a reply! Not an auto reply either.

So I would say I am quite happy with this tuner. Two year warranty, you can't beat that. Free 4:1 balun offer until the end of January 2008, another good deal. It matches up with the 718 perfectly. What more could you want if you run a multiband antenna?

Another Winner! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I have purchased and put to good use most of the LDG products from the first. Everyone represents value, quality and great performance. My new AT-7000 tunes my 40/80 W9INN dipole on all HF bands including 160! Not the use I planned on, just wanted it to touch up most of my resonnant or near resonance antennas so this was a pleasant surprise. Looks like a real "keeper". Highly Recommended!

Bought AT 7000 to use with Icom 706 MK IIG Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Tuner works well and tunes very fast. It makes the radio complete and works well when you use it portable.

Works great mobile Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I dug through the junk boxes and cobbled together a bug catcher antenna to run with my 706MKIIG in my 2006 Tacoma P/U. The base is mounted 48" off the ground in the center of the front bed rail just behind the cab. To make it interesting, the bed on truck is a plastic composite not metal. Used 1.5" wide ground braid (2ea) of different lengths for a ground to the frame on the truck with 1 going to each side of the frame. Antenna is 5-1/2' in length with a total height of 9-1/2' to the top of the antenna. Base of the coil is mounted 39" up the mast and antenna is topped off with a 16" capacity hat.

Using MFJ-259B Antenna coil was tapped in the center of the general phone bands for 10M thru 80M. For an impedance match to 50ohms I was using an MFJ capacity box near the feedpoint. Bandwidth and SWR was no issues on 10M-20M. Full coverage. On 40M and 80M however bandwidth was narrow. 31KC on 40M and 10KC on 80M.

I wanted to try a auto tuner and placed a call to LDG. My truck being a single cab is very limited on usable space in the cab. They recommended their AT-7000. I removed the MFJ capacity box, installed the AT-7000 under the drivers seat, and buddy it works FB! No issues and it tunes like a dream. I now can tune the general phone bands on all frequencies with a 2:1 of less SWR.

I do still use the separate band taps on the bug catcher coil for efficiency. Push the tune button on the 706 and it the AT-7000 does it's magic. The signal reports have been positive with most stating great signal for a mobile and what type of antenna are you running. 1st week of operation, in less than stellar band conditions, and I have logged 7 foreign countries on phone while driving to work. So far so good, and I give this tuner a 5 of 5, good job LDG.

Works food with IC706MKIIG Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
I've had great luck using the tuner with the Icom 706MKIIG. Its a nice package. I actually use the tuner and transceiver in the garage, separated from the contol head which is in the house. One touch engages the trasmit, I see it work, it goes back to receive. No problem, simple (my first separate autotuner).

Works Great! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I purchased the AT 7000 to use with an ICOM 718 and have found the 7000 easy to install and it works great. Quick tuning and no problems. The ICOM 718 setup mode defines it as ICOM's "AH-4" model. Connected to my Comet BB7, it tunes SWR down to 1.4 on 160 meters. I rated the 7000 at a 4 only because I am not familiar with all the other Auto Tuners on the market. Having experience with ICOM AT and Yaesu AT lead me to declare the LDG AT-7000 to be equally effective... "works great" as it truly is an automatic implementation... no operator intervention necessary going from band to band.

Very Pleased with Performance Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Tuner works perfect with my IC-7000. I'm using a vertical antenna and the AT-7000 tunes every band with ease. Very good product manual. Very easy to use.

Great product, great price.
