Snoopy, sooooo snoopy Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
This is a neat receiver! Has two ranges, 30-90 MHz and 60-300, manual tuning, with little light bulbs behind the meters - the range you're switched to has the meter lit up, switch ranges and the other lights up. This will receive in AM, FM, and CW modes, has good sound with a little Motorola monitor speaker I hooked up. It recieves broadcast FM just as well in AM mode as in FM mode! Sounds good that way too! You can listen to the pilots on VHF AM too. For ham freqs, well, this will get 6m, 2m, and 220, and you can still listen to your neighborhood pirate just off one end or the other of the FM band lol. The manual tuning makes it very friendly for just tuning around - I love my ft-897 but I'm limited to certain step sizes in certain bands. This is a fun "just tune around" radio. I think the IF output can be used to feed a spectrum analyzer somehow, whoohoo bandscope! If that's possible.

This was modest in cost for me to acquire, because it's an "odd" radio but it's a fun radio!
