VHF-UHF ONLY Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Although this analyzer was designed for the cellular industry, it serves well in pretty much any VHF-UHF environment ....... but be careful .... even though it is a discontinued model, they still consider ANY information about it a super secret proprietary if you need to fix something. They have no problem telling you "YOU HAVE TO SEND YOUR UNIT BACK TO US FOR ANY REPAIRS" ....... "OUR MINIMUM FEE IS _______" ...
I am NOT commenting on the impropriety of this practice for long discontinued products, just commenting that you need to be aware as you purchase a used device that if anything goes wrong, it could get VERY EXPENSIVE VERY FAST!

Great! Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
First, don't buy a new one, they cost more than most top shelf HF rigs, but they are available for a great deal less used.

This instrument is similar in function to the excellent AEA antenna analyzers. The Sitemaster will provide a graph of VSWR or return loss which is downloadable to you computer. It can also be used to locate shorts in your cable down to the foot.

The Sitemaster is well constructed and designed for the rigors commercial field work. I have never had any issues with it working properly in any weather conditions.

The Sitemaster is extremely accurate, if you wish to get maximum accuracy you calibrate with a precision load and a special "precision" short and open. Once calibrated the calibration constants can be stored in a setup file so the instrument needs not be recalibrated each time it is used. The unit is equipped with markers so the exact frequency and VSWR (or return loss) can be read directly.

If you are not satisfied with a run of the mill antenna analyzer and want traceable measurements of your antenna system, not to mention dazzle your friends get this.
