Fantastic!! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
For Many Years I have bought and assembled the wonderful products that Larry Puts out. Besides being an Asset for every K3 Owner, he has Expanded his products for just about any brand of Ham radio Transceiver. The LP-100A is Wonderful. I bought the Kit version, had no trouble putting it together, and calibration was straight forward, and when Done, and Accurate to within 1.5% If you need a Station Accessory that just about does everything, your hand with a Iroon, and Can follow simple steps this product is for you. Well Done Larry, Keep it up!

If you need one buy one! Time Owned: more than 12 months.
There is not much that I can add that has not been said already.
It is a great product and I could not see ever using a analog meter again.
I really love how it also interfaces with DDUTIL that controls my Flex-5000.
If you need one buy one! You will not be disappointed.

Very Pleased! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Been waiting forever for a wattmeter that does what this one does. Will never use anything else! Spoke with Larry on the phone and he was great. Had questions about multiple inputs and more and he was right with me and completey helpful. That Larry can stay calm and patient and answer what must be the same old questions over and over with enthusiasm and real concern for the customer when most if not all answers can most likely befound on his website is a perfect example to me of how I wish everyone handled their customer phone consultations. We all like to have our hands held and speak in person to someone as we are about to pull the trigger on a new piece of gear, and now I know for sure this company is quality all the way. I look forward to purchasing the LP Pan as soon as I get the old old shack computer upgraded. Thanks Larry.

Really Excellent Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
I built the kit version, and sent it to Larry N8LP for calibration (calibration is free!). It was fun to build and having it calibrated gives me confidence in my power and swr readings. The high SWR alarm prevents my linear from keying when the SWR is high. Tech support from Larry has been fast and very friendly. The bar graph display has many segments unlike some of the other digital wattmeters I considered.

extremely valuable tool Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I have experienced ALC overshoot problems with my FlexRadio 5000 and my Tokyo HY-Power 1.5 KFX amp. I was unable to ascertain the cause until hooking in the LP100A. It was able to show the power output of the Flex at such a speed and accuracy that I was able to finally adjust the radio so as to not overdrive the amp and still achieve a high average PEP without distortion. I had been using a Bird43 with a PEP kit installed and although quite good it was just not fast enough. Thank you Larry for a fine piece of gear.

It's the Best you can Buy (Period) Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
Rather than rehash all the great things that have been said already, I think the 5 out of 5 with almost 100 votes pretty much says it all !!

Bottom line, this is the Best Dedicated Ham Meter you can own. The LP-100A is a must if you want to really know how well your Radio, Amp and Antenna are working.

Nuff said, it's the Best and well worth every cent, also Larry and his Wife’s customer support is top notch, he knows his stuff and he never overstates or promises what he can't deliver.

I highly recommend this meter, without it my Shack would feel like a car without a Dashboard.

Nice Meter, Excellent Support Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I bought the pre-assembled version, and it has performed very well. Larry is very responsive to questions and bug reports. I use it in normal everyday QSOs, but also to calibrate transmitter and amplifier ALC levels.

Very configurable meter - you can set integration times, alarm levels, several options about how power/SWR are displayed, and lots of others. The serial interface to the PC is also nice.

Excellent Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I've bought a kit recently and assembled it in several hours (but you have to have a certain level of skill to put everything together, kit assembly is not for beginners). The manual is excellent and very detailed. The PCB and hardware quality is excellent also. Assembled unit worked fine from the start, I've sent it to Larry N8LP for calibration and got it back very fast in a few days.
This is a fantastic instrument with lots of functions, very useful in the shack to tune and troubleshot equipment and antennas.
Great design, great service. Thanks, Larry!

Must-have accessory if you use an amp Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I received my LP-100A about two weeks ago, and I am very impressed with it. It is a well-built, quality instrument that should be on the desk of all hams who use an amp.

I have an Icom 7600 with an Icom PW1 1kw amp. Before getting the LP-100A, I was having a great deal of trouble getting the PW1 to work with my G5RV antenna: the tuner was searching and not finding a solution. I also received bad signal reports on 40m and 80m with the most common description being a "pumping sound". I was frustrated and often turned off the PW1 when working 40m and 80m.

After installing the LP-100A I discovered the problem: I had set the PW1 to provide AGC feedback for 20m that would keep the exciter from overdriving the amp. However, on 40m and 80m the setting allowed the exciter to overdrive the amp, and it was clipping and generating RF noise which produced high SWR; the "pumping" was the amp was powering up and down to protect itself. The analog power meter on the amp was unable to show the overdrive condition from SSB peaks. I had no way of knowing that I was greatly overdriving the amp. Fortunately, it wasn't damaged.

Now that I can monitor peak power on SSB with the LP-100A, I carefully adjust the exciter so that the peak power coming out of the PW1 does not exceed 1kw. This has completely solved the problem: The PW1 is able to tune the G5RV, and I'm getting good signal reports with the PW1.

The LP-100A has greatly improved my ham experience, and it's probably prevented me from blowing out my $5000 PW1 amp.

The LP-100A isn't cheap, but how often have you regretted buying expensive, high quality equipment, and how often have you regretted buying cheap equipment? What's it going to cost to repair your amp?
