My mistake! Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I tried to change my rtaing to a 5/5 to late and got a double post I guess. Anyway, I would rate it a 5/5, since I have had nothing but great service from it, and the radial coming out was my fault due to the way I was banging it around on the roof! I have a 12/12 pitch roof! Antenna work is FUN!!!! 73's w0ace

I've had the diamond the mfj and the tram antennas,I think the JetStream Antenna rates with the Diamond and the Comet in fact its connectors are by far better than the Tram and the MFJ.I would put that extra money you save in good low loss coax cable ie 9913 lmr 400 or a good vhf/uhf swr meter.

Spend no more than this!! Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Had Several Diamonds, this performs as well for much less money. Have had it in 65 mph winds so far.Put it up and forget it. Am using one for a repeater as well.
Slightly different construction tha Diamond, but can lose several for same money (but I doubt you will).

Great Antenna Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
This antenna works very well. Its mounted on a 50ft tower and fed with LMR400 cable. It has withstood high winds and freezing rain conditions.
VHF SWR is flat in the middle and rises to just less than 1.5:1 on the edges of the amateur band. On UHF the match is less than 1.5:1 at 435MHz and remains flat well beyond the band at 450MHz.
Performance on both bands is excellent with great simplex coverage.
You cant beat this antenna for the price. This has to be one of the lowest priced well performing base antennas.

This is a well made antenna with plenty of gain. The SWR is flat over both bands at my location (up 30ft). I don't see the joints coming apart unless they were stress twisted during the assembly---use only the metal collars to tighten the sections together. I like the idea of the coax connector being somewhat shielded from the elements in the mounting tube. It will get a true test this Wyoming Winter!

Good Value Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I've purchased one of these recently due to the recommendations of a friend. It is a well-designed knock-off of the Diamond version at one-third the price.

It performs very well, I notice a great difference between it and other antennas I have used. It does seem to have a relatively high angle of radiation which seems to affect UHF perfomance (at least in my case), but is overall a very good bargain. A friend had his fall apart at the joints in a moderate wind. The joints are glued into the threaded connectors, rather than a compression fit as in the Diamond. So, I would suggest strengthening the joints with some other method before install, especially if you plan on mounting it in an inaccessable place. I used heatshrink on the joints, and it seems to be working well.

We had a 60MPH wind recently, and it bent over violently in the chaos, but did not come apart. I would definitely recommend it to others. You can't beat the price.
