No static Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I owned an 817nd for about a year before I had the BHI DSP installed. Amazing just how much it decreases that annoying, fatiguing noise! And it does it without making the audio sound like they are speaking to you through a tin can or under water. Just one tiny button showing. I also own an FTDX-3000D (which is an excellent receiver with top notch IF DSP) and now my 817nd seems to be just as quiet. I demonstrated it to my wife and she admitted she always hated my radio hobby because of all that "static" but now she doesn't even know my radio is on until she hears VOICE. I love the 817nd but if it died I would not even own another unless I could still upgrade it with the BHI DSP.

Great! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I had W4RT install it on my FT-817ND-two day turnaround service! As others have said, the difference is amazing, and must be heard to be believed. I am hearing challenged, so using it with my headphones "changed the world" for me. It is money well spent, and I would do it again in a heartbeat! The fast service and communication with W4RT was "icing on the cake."

Works well Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
As others mentioned, it does a good job of reducing noise. Though you can get other baseband (not RF) audio noise if you don't install it right.
Exercise some care where you get its supply voltage from. I installed it in my TS440SAT, first tapped the 7.5VDC supply on the IF unit board. This caused some audio junk getting into the baseband received audio. Sounds a little like a motorboat. Changed its supply to tap onto the 13V supply to the audio output chip, with a series 100 ohm resistor to drop around 5V off this 13V (board specs say it draws 50ma), to reduce noise coupling and reduce heat on its voltage regulator. Noise now gone. I also connected this board's ground return to a ground near the IF unit board audio area, to avoid ground loops.
Didn't notice the problem until I turned the RF gain way down. HF noise tended to drown out the motorboat, the DSP board also reduced it.

It works.. but Keyboard has scary cheap buttons Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Surprised.. Its nice.. I installed mine in the Palstar SP30B. Its a nice combination. However I did not believe that the Palstar was any better speaker than a Yaesu SP-6 that I have. So, Im going to get another one and install it in the SP-6 because it will be much more flexible. The Yaesu speaker has two input and a button to switch between radios. Thus having the BHI DPS for both radios AND I can plug a headphones in the front of the speaker and have the BHI DPS in my headphones.. Or plug powered speakers to the Yeasu SP-6 headphone jack and the audio becomes a pass through on the SP-6 that uses the BHI DSP and comes out the powered speakers..

I gave it a 4 because Im scared of the key board.. its buttons are cheap feeling and I dont know where I will be with it years from now then they break. Will BHI offer a replacement? Will a replacement fit the same holes I had to make in the speaker cabinet? I dont want to work on it again later because of cheap buttons. And I would have rather had a knob with position.

Some advice, make sure to mount the heatsink on more metal. It needs the extra cooling dissipation.

Works great with Icom 735 Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I installed the module is a TS440 a year ago and that worked well. Just installed it in an Icom 735 and it works equally well. To install in the 735, replace capacitor C279 with the module and get power from nearby connector J10.

It works and is well worth it! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I installed this module into my TS-440S/AT. It has worked perfectly and really cuts down on the noise. I strongly recommend it.

Great solution Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I have ridden the BHI nesdsp 1061kbd on my old TS440S, and it really is no longer an old TS440S, now a young TS440S/AT/DSP
Although I have had a few difficulties for installation, due to my impatience, I managed to do it, checking how wonderful it is to hear something that was impossible yesterday.
After seeing the excellent videos of John W2JAW on its installation and operation instructions and Megaherz magazine-published in France by Jean Paul, F1LVT really has not been difficult assembly.
The hardest thing was to eliminate the coupling capacitor, because my eyesight is not what it was and need a small magnifying glass, but the rest was all pretty straightforward.
If you doubt that this can be a good solution to enhance your rig, do not hesitate: it is.

TS440S/AT install Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I just installed the NEDSP1061-KBD in my TS-440sat, Fantastic! It's a new radio, well sounds like it.
I am using the Voice button as the DSP selector instead of the one that came with the kit. I found the instructions to use the Voice button on the web.
I do not have the voice option installed so the switch was unused. I did not have to drill any holes. It is amazing, the quality of the sound after using the filter, I have an Icom 706MK2G with DSP and I had a Yaesu FT-100, no comparison to the BHI, the BHI blows it away. I am going to but another to install in my Icom, that's how amazing this DSP is. Purchased in America from W4RT, I had it in a few days. My emails were answered right away, great person to do business with.

Quite effective in a TS-440S on SSB or AM Voice Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
After seeing some of the videos produced by W2JAW on YouTube, I thought installing this DSP module in my TS-440SAT would be a cost effective upgrade for reducing noise on SSB voice ops or possibly for AM SWL listening.

I have periodic TS-590S and TS-990S envy.

Offers up to 8 levels of tone and white noise reduction. Relatively simple to install in a TS-440S. Very simple to operate.

Don't expect it to work with CW or digital modes. Watch the videos produced by W2JAW and others to get an idea what to expect.

I am pleased with the product and would recommend it to others.

Installed BHI NEDSP1061-KBD in Kenwood TS440S Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I just installed the BHI NEDSP1061-KBD DSP Unit into my Kenwood TS440S.

I have taken pictures and videos of it, but the rules won't permit me to give links to you.

I can tell you that It is like night and day for an older rig without DSP to have this filter installed into it.

You can't go wrong getting this filter as it filters all hiss, static and noise passing just the audio on it's highest setting. It offers both 4 mode and 8 modes, as well as two demonstration modes.

Make your Kenwood TS440S a Kenwood TS440S/DSP

I agree that once you use the BHI DSP unit, you won't want to go back.

73 and great hearing.
