Solid product using common auto fuses Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
I have installed seven of these in my mobile communications truck; all are the model 5026 with plastic cover and a negative bus connection. This model provides 12 circuits, is rated for 100 amps and utilizes common automobile (ST) bladed fuses.

I like the fact that I can pickup fuses at any auto parts store and most gas stations. I use circular lugs, so there is no danger of the wires slipping out from under the screws.

The price is right! I am mounting a small LED indicator under the cover to act as a pilot light and tying them into the main DC breaker panel with 70-amp breakers and 6AWG wire.

Great fuse block for adding your own Anderson Power Poles! Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
While attempting to build a compact power panel, I wandered into West Marine looking for some maring grade connectors. When I saw the Blue Sea fuse block I gave up my plans to build one up from scratch.

To add Power Poles to this block, I used short pieces of solid 10 gage wire with a terminal conector on one end and a Power Pole on the other. The + bus strip sits behind and higher than the - bus, and their spacing is perfect, making it is a simple matter to put solid wire on each pair of connection points and terminate them in a Power Pole.

Solid wire is a must to provide rigid support to the Power Poles. Be sure to use insulated connectors or add two layers of heat shrink on the + terminal connectors as they cross over the - terminal screw. When building with solid wire, crimp lightly just to hold the connectors in place for soldering.

Blue Sea makes several versions of fuse blocks. The only model that will work is the one that uses glass fuses and has both a positive and negative bus.

Any well stocked marine store will carry this line or can order it.
