Description:
THE FIELD DESK: Designed specifically for those of us who need to put too much in too little space, and then move it. Tough enough for field day; Attractive enough to be let into the house. Assembles / disassembles in minutes with no tools. Easily supports hundreds of pounds without a whimper, and then lets you push it around, without a wobble, even in the sand.

Solid & Functional Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
Fletcher custom builds each desk to your exact specifications. He uses quality materials and his attention to detail and quality craftsmanship is obvious. This desk is beautiful, functional and easy to tear-down and reassemble. With five major components and six carriage bolts, assembly took less than five minutes. Once assembled, this desk is SOLID.

Wow - great buy Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Based on the reviews here and other locales, I placed an order.

While my desk's production was delayed, Fletcher was really good about keeping me up to speed and gave me every opportunity to cancel my order [and he did NOT have any of my money at that point!].

I decided that anyone which such a good product must be worth waiting for.

While I was on vacation the day Fletcher arrived to deliver my desk [and yea, he's a bit mad, I AM in CA, he's a 1 call], my XYL has nothing but nice things to say about him. He delivered and assembled the desk in my absence.

I have been nothing but pleased with it, I've installed most of the hardware it's going to need for now.

The only things I changed is that I added a sheet of Borco [a plastic drafting board material, slightly resiliant and more pen-friendly] to protect the main working surface from scratches, screwed a power pole panel to the rear apron, and hung speakers and a VHF/UHF from the bottom of the shelf, as well as a mic hanger.

As another reviewer noted, it is a fine looking piece of furniture and my wife likes it. It is the centerpiece of my new shack space and I like it so far.

Versatile and beautiful Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I just finished re-building my station around this great looking desk. The sliding top shelf works very smoothly, with just the right amount of friction. I found this feature very useful in gaining access to my cabling. My desk has three grommet holes for cable routing. The bottom shelf holds my computer CPU, power strips, and one of my power supplies-- keeping these items off the floor, and away from my big feet.

I mounted a large MFJ coax switch on the inside of one of the very sturdy A-frame legs.

For the first time in many years, I have room for expansion in my station. My XYL is pleased, also!

My experience in dealing with Fletch, K1RSC, was as positive and rewarding as others have stated. He is truly an American craftsman, rightfully proud of his work.

Satisfied! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I have had this desk for about a month now. It has
met my expectations! The desk is also built like a tank ...

Fletch also provides VERY good customer support. When I mentioned that I was a tad worried about shipping the desk, he mentioned that he would personally come by my QTH and set it up for me. Needless to say, I was VERY surprised that he would go out of his way to do that! I'll be keeping this desk for a LONG time!

Superbly constructed Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I spent the last few years looking for a desk that would be ideal for my Shack. I checked all the furniture web sites and visited numerous retail outlets but nothing jumped out at me.

Then I saw the ad for HamDesk.com. I scanned the website and quickly determined that I liked the looks and the configuration of the desk. Further, it was designed for the Ham operator. It even has a grounding bus bar and apron mounted coax connector.

I was a little concerned though that this 70-pound package would arrive safely at my door some 3000 miles away. The packaging was professional and the desk made the trip without a scratch.

Assembling the desk took a total of 10 minutes and didn't require any tools. The materials used to build this desk are first rate and the attention to detail is very obvious. This desk is rugged and easily handles the weight of all my radios and accessories.

Lastly, I cannot speak highly enough of Owner of HamDesk, Fletcher Davis. He stayed in contact throughout the making of my desk. He is fiercely proud of the Ham Desk and I’m proud to own one.

Great investment Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Have been searching for the "just right" desk for my shack since I started my renovation project this summer. Then I ran across this product.

I ordered the 72" version. Fletch not only got it done exactly as promised and on time but actually personally delivered it to me in West Virginia and helped me put it together. I certainly didn't expect that.

The desk is everything I wanted in both looks and convenience. It is sturdy and will certainly outlast me.

It isn't cheap. But it is less expensive than many of the solutions I looked at and discarded. And far more useful.

Excellent Product! My XYL and I BOTH love it! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
This operating position desk does everything described on the website and more, and it achieves its service claims far, far better than the vast, vast majority of amateur radio related purchases a ham could make. The Field Desk is my HF operating station; I'll be ordering another for my VHF/UHF station. For use details read the information that Fletch provides on the website.

Despite the fact that UPS destroyed the first unit that was shipped to me; the designer/builder constructed me a new one (No questions asked!) and I didn't have to deal with the shipper. The second unit that I received was packed so that even UPS couldn't destroy it if they air dropped it from 5K feet.

Those who review the information on the website and think "...the price is too high..."

Keep in mind that I currently trust the Field Desk to support about $5K worth of purchased amateur gear and even more valuable, priceless (and unreplaceable) homebrew and classic gear.

My XYL - who funds my gear purchases and with whom I share my shack - stated "Now that IS nice!"

Score = 5 for the product (cause it don't "...go to 11...")
Score = 10 for the service

I'll write an addendum after 12 months experience. That is if eHam is still around then (I'm sure the Field Desk will be!)
