The Best Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Where do I start? My FRG-7 was bought 2nd hand from the original owner in 1986. Mothballed shortly after my purchase, I thought it time to fire up the old radio. Much to my amazement, it worked well on everything except the broadcast band.

After looking through the reviews of the different repair shops I selected Carol to handle my still VERY mint FRG-7. I asked Carol to revitalize my power supply, audio, and front end. He also checked out the deafness of my broadcast band.

It's been the best of any repair experience I've ever had. Not only did he complete my requested upgrades, he found a "custom" wiring error, apparently done by the original owner, that had snuffed my broadcast band.

The entire job was done during the holiday season in just a few days. Terrified that the mint cosmetics of this vintage radio would be compromised, to say I was apprehensive about the repair was an understatement. Not to fear! The FRG-7 looked as perfect as it did when I took it out of its box 26 years ago. Carol included all replaced parts in the return shipment.

Carol followed up with great communications and expressed personal concern that the repair met my expectations.

Believe me, you can't go wrong here.

Wonderful job on FT101B Time Owned: more than 12 months.
When my old FT101B went haywire I got ahold of Carol to see if he could fix my unit. Well he fixed it and more. He replaced the finals, a shorting problem, a couple of pots and then some. He also threw in with no charge and without any request from me, a replacement faceplate and painted the radio. It looks like new! I just got it back and set it up. Does it ever work well now! Thanks Carol and Josh. Good Job!

Great communication, service and repair Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Carol, W4CLM, Certified Electronics, provided me excellent service on my FT-101B. His attention to both phone and email communication was far above that of anyone I have dealt with before. The transceiver was repaired quickly, in less than the estimated time at a fair price. Was I satisfied? You bet! I obtained expert advice on another project and will be sending him additional repair work soon. He is in a class all by himself!

Beautiful FT-101E Restoration! Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I've had a Yaesu FT-101E that was purchased new back in the 70's that I used as my boyhood radio and it hasn't been powered up since 1980. I've been wanting to restore the rig back to its former glory days and get it back on the air again. As it sat in my parents garage for all these years collecting dust and debris, I wanted to make sure I didn't smoke the rig when it got powered up again. The radio's leather side strap was frayed and worn. The case had chips in the paint and some minor rust and corrosion. The plastic on the faceplate was slightly torn and showing its age. I wanted the radio gone through electronically, but also physically/aestetically, but I wasn't sure who to send it to do a complete restoration. I went on eham.net and read all the positive reviews on Carol at Certified Electronics and decided to send it to them. I bought a replacement side strap off EBAY and sent the radio in. A few weeks later I got an email telling me my radio was done, what repairs were performed, and PICTURES! I could not believe the pictures! The radio looked as good as new! I couldn't wait to get the rig back. After I received the radio, the pictures did not do it justice. They completely went through the radio electronically, replaced some trimmer caps, cleaned all the contacts and switches, checked the tubes, and aligned the radio. Even more so, they completely sanded and repainted the radio case and trim ring as well as cleaned the front panel and replaced the clear plastic on the faceplate. It honestly looks better than I imagined; looks just like new! I was so impressed, I sent them the matching speaker to have them repaint the case so it didn't look so bad sitting next to the now NEW looking FT-101E. I've been using the rig on the air for the last few weeks and it works as good as it looks! Thanks, Carol, for an amazing job!

Wonderful service Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
I sent an FT-101B to Certified Electronics that was not receiving and they quickly aligned and calibrated the radio and repaired and cleaned the vernier gearing. They checked the tubes and the capacitors and returned my rig with very reasonable charges. Unfortunately, the shipping cost me more to send the radio across the continent and back by UPS than the repairs! Thank-you Carol and Josh!

This is the 2nd rig I sent to CERTIFIED ELECTRONICS in GA (FT101EE)for repair. The work they perform was completed in a timely fashion and the price was right. The radios are working flawless. Carol and staff did a great job and his communication was wonderful. Great job Carol keep up the good work. If you own one of these old girls (Yaesu) and want to bring it up to speed CERTIFIED ELECTRONICS is the way to go no disappointments. Thanks Carol

Just from reading the reviews here on Eham. I decided to try CE (Certified Electronics) with my FT 101EE I purhcased it from a Hamfest and wanted to restore it. Great choice of shops, the radio was shipped out and back into my shack in no time. The price of the repair was more than fair. The radio is working flawless !!! great job Carol I am ready to send another FT 101 EE out for service; to CE of course. We did everything via email and it was a smooth transaction
Thanks
Carol

FT-897D Repair Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Rig was dropped by someone, breaking the clarifier pot stem. Wanting the unit in the hands of the best qualified I sent unit to Carol and her gang. Very co-operative to work with and performed the repairs rapidly. Should I have any other repairs I would not hestitate to call Certified Electronics. Thanks Carol.
