Good Product Time Owned: more than 12 months.
This is a very affective filter for elimanating noise and interferance. It does however take some learning to figure out how to use it. The instruction manual is not good. I like the Mfj DSP the best out of the ones I have used because you can taylor your filtering just the way you want it but it will get real frustating untill you get the hang of this thing. Once you figure out how to use this device it is one of the best out there but if you just want to button push you may want to try a differant one.

Not tops but many fine features Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Bought used over a year ago. Quite good noise filtering and passband tuning. With noise reduction, there is some attenuation of higher tones, but this can be compensated with turning tone high in the radio. Great tunable CW filter with spot adjustment. The spot is useful when trying to dig that VK on 160m out of the noise at 30 Hz bandwidth! Built-in AGC works wonders with many other stations within the radio passband. With the AGC on, the presence or absence of a 500 Hz crystal filter in the 160m CW contest did not make much difference. Notch is effective but slightly distorts the audio. There are adjustments for it that require opening the unit. Manual notches (2) work great and do not distort. Filter characteristics (lower and upper passband or bandwidth) can be announced via CW. There is a handy headphone/speaker switch that works with unit on or off.

Switching modes takes some time. One can use built-in 10 memories, but they use multifunction buttons and need some time to master. In summary, money well spent.

Poor, poor, poor Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I live in a high noise area. This DSP unit was to be my ticket to better hamming, but no. It has so many knobs and details that you hardly have time to be on the air. The most and only truly disappointing purchase of any MFJ product. There are much better units out there. I ended up with the W9GR that works like a charm and for less money.
