One less window open... Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Great little add-on for the Firefox browser updating WWV propagation info automatically via your internet connection. Sits in the status bar to the lower right of the browser displaying SF, A, K and SSN values or can be minimised to just display SF with a rollover tooltip displaying full data.

Right-click gives a K-index graph and other options including latest full NOAA report - all without opening a new website page.

Great.

Super gadget for WWV Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
I learned about this FireFox plug-in through the ARRL's Solar Update Report.

Installing is a breeze and using it even more so: FireFox's status bar ALWAYS shows me updated WWV no matter what site I'm surfing. No user actions required! A recent update also displays a K-index chart a simple mouse click away.

If you're interested in solar conditions and if you use the FireFox browser, install this plug-in! It is completely transparent and does not slow down your browser.

TNX to N0HR for developping this tool and making it available for free to the HAM community.

Never FTP again Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
For 9 years I looked at the WWV FTP site. Now I don't have to. And the addition of graphing of the K index this summer doubled my use.

Now I use Firefox much more, between N0HR and the tabs.

I hear so far IE 7 is a bomb as of August 2006. It certainly looks like it was laid out by someone who just wanted to be different...

PropFire - Awsome tool. Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
Mega-dittos!

PropFire is a informative and unobtrusive tool that sits in the lower right corner of the Firefox browser.

What a great idea... way to go.

Nice Tool for DXers Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
What is nice about Propfire? The Geomagnetic Indices and Solar Flux are always displayed on the bottom right hand corner of your web browsers status bar. A Quick glance lets one know what the dx conditions are like. One does not have to go to other websites to retrieve this data. Also by clicking on the indices one has access to a full propagation report. It does not get any simpler than this fellow dxers. It is not compatable with IE but who needs that browser anyways. Try the Firefox browser. It doesn't crash like IE does.
