Concise Tech Licnese Study Guide			Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
When the latest Tech License Question Pool became effective in July 2006, the exceptional and well known W8BBS Tech Study Guide was rendered obsolete (particularly as W8BBS reports he has no current plans to revise his Study Guide.) Dan Romanchik (KB6NU) has prepared a great "bare-bones" 40 page study guide for exams given after July 1, 2006. Unfortunately, Dan has not yet emphasized the Study Guide on his Blog website KB6NU.com, but the PDF format guide is available for download at: http://www.kb6nu.com/wp-content/uploads/2006/07/2006techstudyguide.pdf I have read through his materials and it is a very well presented work. It has proven it's ability to get examinees to pass the Tech exam (just a couple of weekends ago at one of the local GLAARG test sessions at which I was a VC.) Our local radio club intends to make it available to those interested in getting started with their Ham radio licenses. Although at 40 pages it is slightly longer than the former W8BBS version, and ten pages longer than the also very good N8KBR Tech Study Guide (see: http://studyguide.eqth.org/Element2_Study_Guide.pdf or http://studyguide.eqth.org/ ), K6BNU's Tech Study Guide has already "passed the test." Both Guides are accessable via the Ham Radio Instructor & Student Resources website at: http://www.hamradioinstructor.com/guides.html These guides are highly recommended and may assist in getting new Hams started in the hobby. If you know people who are disappointed with poor performance of the low cost FRS Radios, print out and give them a copy of either of the Guides and get them into the Hobby!!
