Comparable to M HT1250 Time Owned: more than 12 months.
This radio is comparable to Motorola's ht1250. Plenty channel capacity at 256 channels. Programming software\cable easy to get, which is a huge plus. My experience with Icom support was not terrible but not great either. It is a nice size\weight radio with plenty of features for even an experienced user. Programming is very easy. Along with the tech support, the audio output is what earned this radio a 4\5. It seems as the Icom v-8 radio which is a HAM has a louder audio output than this COMMERCIAL ht, with me using this in the noisy fire service, loudness is must. I would recommend this for the HAM user, but would think twice before getting it for the public safety sector. Also, if using this radio, spend the extra money and get an OTTO speaker mic. OTTO puts out a much better mic than ICOM.
