Great reports Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Have the +3B on my Icom 729 n I get great audio reports, I also have a President Lincoln 10m mono bander n no one belives it is a Lincoln the audio is superb better than most modern HF rigs useing the +3B. If you see 1 at a ham rally buy it !!!!!!!

Excellent on ICOM Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
I use my Turner Plus 3 on my Icom 736, and does it ever make that meter jump. I have used a Astatic Night Eagle (crystal), and the Astatic 1104C (Ceramic with VOL & TONE ctrls). The Astatic 1104C is a close second to the Turner, but it is obvious from on the air reports in comparing the PLus 3 wins.

GREAT match for Icom Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Ok, I was a bit skeptical when I saw the lonely Turner +3 mic on the flea market table. I have tried other desk mics, and always gone back to the trusty stock mic. My fancy MFJ mic with eq and compression is an rf magnet. It is unusable
on many hf bands due to poor shielding/rfi. Even the good old D104 gets slammed on certain bands. For $20 @ MIT flea (wife says ANOTHER mic?)I took a shot at the Turner +3. If you want a no nonsense affordable desk mic for Icom radios, buy a +3. No rfi problems on any band, built like a tank and it sounds good on my IC-746.

I performed a great Marrige for Icom owners! Time Owned: unknown months.
About 15 years ago I won a Turner Plus 3B mictophone as a door prize at one of my club meetings. If anyone can find one of these mikes at a swap & shop or flea market, and you own an Icom HF rig grab it they work great on Icom.I had an Icom 730 at the time. I soldered an 8 pin plug on the end and hooked it up to the Icom. I found they just work great on these rigs. What I really like is the mike gain control on the base of the mike. You don't even need the 9 volt battery, there are enough wires in the cable to wire one to the 8 pin plug and wire that color wire to where the 9 volt battery was soldered to the board.
The wires are connect
PIN WIRE COLOR
1 Mic Input White
2 +8 Vdc Output Yellow Connect to preamp board inside mike.
5 PTT Red
6 PTT Gnd. Blue
7 mic Gnd. Braid
Over the years I have owned 3 Icom HF rigs 730, 753 and recently got a great 751A Wow what a rig! and found the Turner a way better mike than the one that comes with the radio. I find the 9 0'Clock position on the base mic gain control matches the stock Icoms output. If you power the mike from the radio they work great on Vox also. When you are finished you can turn the mike gain down on the base of the mike and leave the vox switched on tne radio. I hope I helped someone find a great mike for their Icom hf rigs. Probably the mike will work great on other brands. 73 Gerry
