Wonderful Performer! Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
I cannot say a whole lot that has not already been said. I got this for portable work, and all I can say is wow! Been using this for SSB and WSJT Meteor Scatter. This thing "rocks" on MS, it does a fantastic job even with the 60-75w I have on battery power. Have not pushed the mileage yet on it, did attempt one at 1210 miles, and was getting some pings but without high gain, high power, or Large Rocks it was a long shot.Lets face it, it is not an end all be all, but it does exactly what is says it will, and for only being 8' that is pretty amazing. The first morning out with this antenna 15' AGL on a tripod, I worked K4N in EL84 from FM17, 945 miles. 300 miles in flat conditions here seems to be no problem in SSB. During the June contest conditions were terrible, but was able to work most of the contact from 80-400 miles. As one person said on the chat pages in comment on my antenna,"Dave's New antenna works like gang busters!"

Directive Systems has changed owners since most of the reviews. The quality is still great, and some design changes have been made to ease assembly. Customer service was great, and shipping and communication were excellent also. When the time comes, I will buy one for 6m and 70cm.

Best compact beam going! Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
Count me as another fan of the boys from Maine. I own DS antennas for 2, 222, 432, and 1.2ghz...they're all well made, easy to put together and tune, and work great!

This antenna is also the perfect antenna for folks interested in WSJT (meteor scatter) work. Enough gain to boost a 100 watt signal, and wide beamwidth so that you "see" all of the sky. Antennas like this can actually outperform longer "boomer" style antennas for MS work. For rovers using this jewel, think about adding WSJT mode. It gives you some new grids during the night, and one antenna can fill both roles well.

My advice on all the Directive Systems antennas, is "BUY THEM!"

Great antenna Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I have had the DS144-6RS as well as the 222 and 432 models for almost a year and they work great. Good F/B and gain is as good as the larger Cushcraft that it replaced.

Great product Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I put up this antenna a couple of months ago and am very happy with the gain and rejection as well as the quality. Very happy :)
