Great quality antenna Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have used this antenna for 1,5 year with a lot of joy.Very well constructed like a tank with great performance.
When you have the Optibeam OB5-6 you will recognize the german engineering that will guarantee of long time of use.
The choice of material is excellent and put it together is not difficult.
And if you have any qeustions, the support is great and important : fast !

Curious about Optibeam ? look at my website www.pa3hgt.nl (half way down, knob "Optibeam") where there are lots of photo's to see the german engineering of HF-beams which is also implemented on this strong 6 meters performer.

splendid Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Hi

I also have this antenna on an 75 feet tower .
The antenna is up about 85 feet and it works brilliant.
Easy to assemble and very well constructed.
Optibeam is the best antenna company in the world and its wellknown for German quality standards.
It is just perfect.
It is very easy to work any station you can hear with just 100 watts. Worked 80 DXCC in the last 2 years with the sunspots activity realy down.....

I can only recommend to buy this antenna..... but hope not everyone does this because I won't be able to break pile-ups anymore .... :-))))

A Masterpiece Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Be heard on 6 metres, treat yourself!!!

Have recently purchased this work of art, a very very solid 6m antenna built to perfection. We all know that Optibeam are world renowned for their antenna construction and this one is no exception. Front to back / front to side rejection is Brilliant, very good forward gain and the SWR curve is almost identical to the stated figures. The beamwidth is a bit tight, and it is a bit narrowband, although this suits my needs perfect. It certainly covers the whole cw/ssb portion more than adequately, although, SWR is a bit high if you want to work the repeaters. This however, can easily be changed during assembley. Speaking of which, assembely on this antenna was a 'doddle', as each and every part was indivudualy marked, one did NOT even have to look at the excellent manual. The full colour photos clearly explain what is to be done. As with ALL Optibeam antennas, a few spare nuts and bolts are included along with the necessary tool kit to complete assembly. Total time from box to tower was 1.5 hours!!! Also ordered the 3KW balun.

This has to be one of the finest 6m antennas around. Construction=100%, performance=100%, customer satisfaction=100%. In 3 weeks, 51 DXCC's worked on 6m using just 100 watts. I have already cracked the North Americian 'barrier' with zero sunspots!!!

So back to my opening statement, if you want to be heard on 6 metres, and you want a solid antenna that will laugh in the face of storms, then this is the antenna for you.

Hope this helps someone somebit, but for me, I would definately buy this product again. Optibeam are a pleasure to do buisness with.
