SIGNALINK USB Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Greetings,

I just purchased this unit approx., two weeks ago. I had help from my friend Matt W8DEC to set it up to my computer and my Yaesu FT-950 and my Kenwood TM-V71A. The same 6 pin DIN plug works with both radios. It was very easy to put together. It only took about 15 minutes to configure the computer and radios and I was on the air in no time. I have been using the set up with key board CW and it works great. I have made lots of contacts. I would highly recommend the Tigertronics Signalink USB to new and old Hams a like. You can't beat the price at $99.00... With all of the reviews, (over 160) at 4.9 out of 5, you cannot go wrong. Thanks in advance. 73, Stu de W8STU

I liked the idea of the on-board soundcard Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Looking for an interface to replace my homebrew digivox system which tended to hangup I saw the SignaLink USB advertised in our local ham swop.
I liked the idea of the built-in soundcard as this isolates your Laptop Computer from the audio signals. The USB connection also gets rid of all the dangling wires from the Laptop and the prewired rig data connection cable is great. Set up on Vista took about 20 min after reading the website info. If you have an IC-7000 , IC 746 pro or FT 450 check the website for additional setup info. a ham friend who only works on digi modes checked my signal and found it nice and clean on 35W.
The unit is nice and compact , fits in the palm of your hand, has good isolation due to to the built-in soundcard, the wiring is neat and it puts out a good clean receive transmit signal.Highly recommended.

I'm happy so far Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
It works, and I'm back up doing digi modes again. That's all I'm looking for in equipment, something even a technically challenged appliance operator like me can't mess up. Thank you, Tigertronics.

Working Great Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
So far working well with all the software I've used. Easy to configure - once you figure out the sound card setting. Use it with Ham Radio Deluxe and JT-65 with no problems. This has been a great investment and I will probably get another one for VHF.

I have been using the USB for about 4 months now. I had used another interface that some people swore by and all I wanted to do was swear at it.
This thing plugged right in, the manual answered all my "questions" and solved the problems I had with sound card levels. I've been working it like crazy on PSK and RTTY and boy is it a solider. Works flawlessly with Ham Radio Deluxe.

works like a champ!!! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I finally bought one after looking around and could not be happier. It makes PSK a breeze and my only regret was waiting around to buy the thing. I use it with a 706MKIIG and a TS-480-HX running DM780 from HRD it also worked FB with digipan but i prefer DM780.

Get one, you'll be glad you did.

Great! Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have 3 of these and have no regrets. One for the main rig, one for field days, and one at my Dad's house 2000km away.

You cannot go past these!

Customer was Served! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I had a defective cable (interface to radio - loose pin - got "stuck" in the radio), called the company and purchased a new cable. 1/2 hour after completing the transaction, Tigertronics called me to inform me that they would replace the cable - at no charge. Further there was no charge for the priority delivery to me.

I've never had an experience like that in any purchase - even warranty purchases with major manufacturers can present challenges when you need to invoke your warranty rights. Not so with Tigertronics - excellent product and service.

Great, once you figure things out Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I wanted to get my new IC7000 working with my new Windows 7 laptop, so I picked one of these units up from HRO. (Arrived the next day, great job, Denver HRO!)

I wanted to use my laptop to read CW for me during the ARRL WWDX-CW contest. I'm pretty computer savvy -- in my spare time, I manage a server team for a fortune 800 company. I followed the directions, and was able to get the unit to read RTTY. It wouldn't transmit at first, but after tweaking Ham Radio Deluxe v5, I got it to function. It wouldn't, however, do anything with CW. Other programs could hear the audio, but they wouldn't transmit.

The Windows 7 instructions need to be re-written and put into a PDF format, not just a few notes on a web site. It turned out that SL-USB wouldn't work unless it was in MCW mode. I hadn't even heard of it before, and there is no mention of it in the SL-USB documentation. It took me three hours of tweaking and guessing before I stumbled on the magic combination.

I finally have it functional on my Windows 7 laptop, but the USB CI-V rig controller I have kept locking up the laptop (probably IRQ conflicts), so I switched to an old laptop with Windows XP. The SL-USB went in without a hitch, thanks to my school of hard knocks training. The unit is excellent (which rates a 5), but the documentation is lagging and needs to be re-written with newer information (which rates a 4). An average of 4.5, rounded up because I'm a glass-half-full kinda guy.

SUPER Great Interface Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have had two of these for well over a year now. One for my main station (FT-950) and the other for my portable station (FT-450AT). I have tried others but went back to the Signalink USB.

Besides the front panel controls (VERY USEFUL !) it only takes up one USB port (unlike most of the others).

I use a freebee program called "QuickMix" to set the device within a pre-set range of what I need for each type of data mode and then fine tune as needed with the device panel controls. It puts me on the mark and keeps me there with very little effort.

Great product - I wouldn't do data communications without it.
