Works Perfectly! Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have used the USB SignaLink with my KX3 for over a year and have had no problems at all. The device is small and compact, and USB powered. Connecting via USB is so much easier and cleaner than using the PC sound card and component cables (as needed with my previous SL-1+). The TX and RX levels must be adjusted properly, but it is not difficult at all. I just switch my PC default sound playback device to "USB Audio Codec" (the SignaLink sound card) and off I go. I highly recommend it! 73

Barely useable Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
Unit showed considerable 2nd and 3rd harmonic at all receive levels generated in its sound card. Sound card on my cheap-O ACER is far superior.
Xmit VOX switching could benfit from RTS detection. My one transistor interface works fine off of the Staple USB to RS-232 interface.
Xmit audio appears dirty, too.
Not worth the money.

Took this device along aon a recent DXpedition to Timor Leste (4W). I was a little nervois as I purchased this without having access to the radio I would be using on the other side of the world.

In short interfacing was a breeze. before arriving I had configured the device for the TS480 and upon arrival, it was simply a matter of plug and play. Using AFSK, the levels were quick and easy to set.

This unit handled the huge pileups like a champ. Decodes were quick and accurate despite signals ranging from near esp level to well over S9.

The unit is small, easy to interface and works as described. A great accessory for a dxpedition as it travels so well. No hesitation in recommending it.

Dump it my way! Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have been using an SL-1 for years. You just need to work with it. Just send them to me for scrapping.

Works well. Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
Not sure why some folks are having trouble with their SignaLink interfaces. It was easy for me to setup under Windows 7 Pro and has worked very well for any soundcard based software that I've tried.

It does help to have at least an intermediate skill set with computers to get the drivers properly installed and setup, which is where I think people are having some difficulty. I am going to get a second unit to use with a FT-817ND when I travel.

Flawless Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Up and running within 30 minutes of opening the box. So far has decoded every mode I've tried with no problems at all. For the money this unit is going to be hard to beat.

Seamless Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have had the Signal Link USB for 2 years. Using the Elecraft K3 and interface- excellent and clean decoding/transmissions.
Having fun with EasyPal DRM digital SSTV, and WSPR.
Please read the included manual carefully, set the jumpers correctly-make sure your PC sound card is disabled, ie Signal Link is the "default" for your radio software. Make sure the audio levels are adjusted properly. I found initially the unit would not key untill the PC audio level was at the proper level. Unit is not entirely "plug and play", no problem for real hams.

Works as advertised Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Works fine. The USB connections makes it a no brainer. I just sold mine, since I now have USB ports on all my HF radios that feed all control and audio data over them. One cable to the PC, no mess.

But how can the device have a 4.9 out of 5 rating, and 22 pages of glowing reports when the previous two give it a 0 and send it to the trash can?

Great Product Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I've had a great experience with this Interface. Over the past two years I've used it to interface three different radios to my laptop.

I've used it as the interface for an Echolink node with my 2 meter Yaesu, and to work digital modes on my Kenwood TS-430S and a newer FT-897d.

Its costs about $30 to set it up for a new radio ($20 for the cable and $10 for the internal jumper module)

I've been happy with it and would recommend it to others.

EXCELLENT Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I use mine with my IC-7200 and it works perfectly all the time. Digipan or FLdigi both work fine. Easy to set up, pretty much plug and play. I have the plug-in module. I've tried other interfaces but this is the best.
