Don't waste your time Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I purchased the WMR-100N from a distributor in the Pacific Northwest in the hopes of having a rather good first weather station. However, the outside temp/humidity sensor could not communicate with the base from the get-go. The company sent me another one. I followed the directions precisely; yet this new sensor was intermittent at a distance of 6 feet; placed outside only 50 feet from the base there was no communication. After repeated attempts of resetting, removing and replacing batteries per the instructions over a 2-week period, I contacted the distributor, insisting on returning it. They took it back and sent me LaCrosse WS-2316 (see review under that category) as a replacement. It worked perfectly out of the box. From many of the other reviews here, many others have had the same experience with the WMR-100N. It should be removed from the shelves of the distributors.

Save your money Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
Worked great at first, battery only since the external AC adapter was missing in box, (never did receive it after after multiple emails). Several months later the indoor temperature function stopped working and would only display dashed lines, but all other functions worked correctly. Several more months later the unit stopped reporting data over the USB port to my PC. Overall, unit seems to be a marginal design with a poor failure rate, will not be buying any more Oregon Scientific.

great product Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
i love this weather station it was everything i wanted for under 200$ i could not be happer this has all the little goodies that most weather stations have of the more expensive type this station has thing i personaly never seen on any other stations on the market like an i-pod dial device this it even comes with a 6 ft pole other station olny include 2 ft at max and others dont even include a pole at all and to top it all of the easy connection to the computer via usb cable
this weather station has good stuff not to say the 10 channel capasity and ultra-violet index and for the rain gage it has a 24 hr bar chart

Cool design, but it just doesn't work. Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I got the WMR-100 for Christmas and within a week I was frustrated enough to contact Oregon Scientific customer support. I just couldn't get the indoor unit to work reliably. Sometimes it would stop receiving the outdoor anemometer, or the raingauge, or both. Other times, it would receive the data from the outdoor units just fine, but it wouldn't talk to the computer over the USB port. It would fail in one way or the other just about every other day. Then it would take about two hours of reset, reboot, reset, reboot, and so on to get it to work again.

Oregon Scientific sent me an entire replacement system under warranty, and I swapped parts back and forth for a couple weeks. But no matter what I did, I still had the exact same problems. Frustrated, I'm returning the whole thing. I've ordered a Davis system instead.

The WMS-100 is simply not ready for prime time. I really like the design and it'll be really cool someday when they actually make a working model.

Not a bad buy! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
If you're in the market for a low-priced, full featured weather station, the WMR-100 really fits the bill! First of all, there are cheaper units (i.e.,the Accurite 00594W) that seem to offer almost the same features, but all I can say is, caveat emptor (buyer beware)! For just a few bucks more, you can have a really top-notch product that performs well and will probably last you a while. All of the functions, including the rain guage, work well and seem to be reasonably well calibrated. The RF links between the remotes and base unit are robust and reliable, with no data drop-outs - a real contrast to some other units I've owned in the past. And the USB link and included software package are a nice touch - just have to take some time to figure out how to use all of its capability! Now for the reasons I gave it a 4 instead of a 5: first, the base unit display is really small, but since you can bring all the data up on a PC, I guess that's being picky. The main gripe is the location of the remote temperature sensor - in the same shell that houses the anemometer/wind vane assembly. This means that it is impossible to locate it in a place that will be out of the direct sunlight. When the sun is shining on it, the outside temperature indication will be higher than it should be! Why did they do that?? Otherwise, you can't beat it!

Rating 5.0 Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Received the WMR-100 over Christmas. I give it a rating of 5.0 The self contained unit that is roof mountable has all the weather sensors. The wireless rain guage actually works. Unlike the LaCrosse 2310 this unit is not bothered by RFI. With the additional software you are able to post your weather data live on the Internet and Hamweather.org as well as APRS.
