Doesn't Get Better Than This Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
This is a great product. I first contacted the firm and we discussed the device and my transceiver. Julius didn't want to sell the EQ until he felt it would provide an improvement. He took the time to dig out the technical data from Icom and then recommended this EQ. After ordering, it arrived in just a few days. The packing was very good and double boxed. The device has a very solid feel and looks very nice in the shack. The improvements to my audio were noted immediately. The manual and set-up were also easy to follow. I will be back later, after a few months, to update this review, but for now what quality and customer service!!

Perfect tool for every ham operator. Time Owned: more than 12 months.
In 2015 or so, I ran a 8-Band EQ / Noise Gate for about three years - into about 2018. Radio was a TS-870 primarily although I had a bunch of Heil adapters and matching cabling into Yaesu, Ten-Tec, iCOM, Elecraft as well.

I ran several different mics too, mostly omni-directional dynamic mics and on occasion, large element condensers from a few makers. This EQ/NG was incredibly easy to tweak. I sold the unit along with the TS-870.

Move to Jan 2021, and I bought another EQ/NG. I also ordered all the appropriate cables from W2IHY himself. My order was processed quickly, then I waited for the cables to arrive... USPS is not fast at the best of times but this was painful. The cables finally arrived, I plugged everything and once again, W2IHY's product has improved my station and it's various radios.

BTW - today I bounce back and forth between an old Heil Pro Set with an HC-5 cartridge and a newer Heil PR-781.

Thank you Julius for being there and making the ham community, some really great products.

I had called W2IHY on a weekend to see about ordering the 8 band audio equalizer and EQ Plus, and though I did not reach him directly, he returned my call within a couple of hours. He was very helpful and took my request to have the connectors placed onto the rear of the radio directly to the equalizer (so I would not have to connect anything into the front of my icom 7610 or have wires going from the front to the back) and ensured it would be built to my request. I was able to get my order placed over the phone, and it was shipped and received within the week! Upon arrival, when I opened the shipping box I noticed that both the 8 band equalizer and EQPlus were packed meticulously and with care. Also both were built very sturdily. He didn't use cheap materials in the housings whatsoever. I have tried a few of the online overseas versions, and this is not usually the case. Setup was fairly painless, it came with quick setup instructions and very detailed operating manuals. However his availability to answer questions was readily available though I did not need it as I have set up other cheaper equalizers from the overseas market in the past. I was up and running in under an hour, and the heil pr-781 sounds better than ever. I now receive tons of compliments on my audio quality in both dx and ragchew.

If you are tired of the cheap construction of the overseas products, and the constant letdown that saving a buck does to your audio quality, I would highly recommend both the 8 band equalizer and the EQ Plus! It's worth the money; buy it once and be done!

Great gear but still learning it Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I am using the W2IHY EQ, EQ plus with a Flex 6600M and also using a Expert SPE 1.5k amp.
About a year ago i had no idea what i was doing trying to set up EQ, Plus and Flex. I gave up until recently when i bought an RE-27.
I watched many videos on youtube for reference.
I believe I have all this gear sounding okay compared to the first report of "you sound like your under water."
If anyone is using the same set up, can you please share how you have set your Flex up with EQ, setting on W2IHY gear and also what position the three switches are in on the RE-27.
I would be so grateful. I know I have to tailor to my voice and what I want to sound like. Main interest is rag chewing, DX and Contest.

Just after posting the above, Julius W2IHY contacted me via email. We spoke on the phone, made some adjustments, got on the air and listened to me. It was soon after that audio was very good. I spent a little time on the air yesterday made a few contacts and along came an unsolicited "your audio sounds great!".
One of my local friends said "sounds great".

If anyone runs the Flex 6600M with W2IHY gear, along with an RE-27, if ya need help let me know!

THE BEST SHACK GEAR Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I HAVE W2IHY SETUP FOR MORE THAN 2 YEARS. DURING CONTEST I WILL ANSWER CQ CONTEST CALLS AND EVERY 3-6 CALLS, SOMEONE WILL COMMENT ABOUT MY AUDIO. HOW GREAT IT SOUNDS AND THIS HAPPENS SO OFTEN THAT I FORGET TO TELL THEM WAY.
I USE THIS ON A KENWOOD TS-890S, ICOM IC-7300, KENWOOD TS-480HX, AND A FLEX 6400. WORKS ON EVERYTHING I HAVE.

Truly Amazing Transmit Audio !!! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I have done studio audio processing and you would have to spend 3 to 4 times as much on rack mounted equipment to achieve what Julius has delivered in the 8 Band EQ/EQ Plus combo. Both the 8 band EQ and the EQ PLUS are amazing on their own but when combined the transmit audio becomes "Divine". Life is too short; if you want the very best possible audio for your signal go with the 8 Band EQ/EQ Plus combo. In use with the EQ Plus at 3 locations. Simple to hook up with outstanding results! Mr. Jones is super to deal with and looks out for his customers. A great product at a good price!

The BEST Audiogear on the market Time Owned: more than 12 months.
This audiogear(8 bnd EQ & EQ+) of W2IHY is simply the best. In my my 20 years of playing with Radio's and Audio I can honestly say these simple boxes are making your audio the best you ever want. Yes I also tried the 19"rack of all the brands including APEX, Symetrix , Behringer and others …. But if you realy want to have great WOOOWW Audio the W2IHY gear is what you need.

Also one simple reason on this, this equipment is made by a HAM for HAMS, 'nuff said.

The support of Julius on all your (audio) questions is tremendous, no question is too dificult and will he always does his utmost best to help you in every way he can. Even if he needs to make a modification on the existing gear to fullfill your needs he will do so.

Conclusion: One of the best vendors I ever made in my more then 2 decades of hamming.

This EQ 'system' should be your first purchase for phone communications. W2IHY has produced a truly professional equalizer that earns spontaneous signal compliments.
Before you spend money on expensive microphones (mostly made for music), get this equalizer that makes any mic sound great! Use it for "relaxed rag-chew" or "punching" through pileups. "Instant gratification."

I have had the pleasure of conducting business with Julius (W2IHY) for a number of years and cannot stress enough of the OUTSTANDING customer service this wonderful man has provided! In today's business world, this is indeed a "breath of fresh air"... Julius has always been there to assist in any way possible to resolve issues, that are usually those of customer error rather than product design or poor quality.

On a personal note, I have used his 8 band equalizer, EQ Plus, I-Plus for many years and have not experienced any issues... My most recent acquisition from Julius is his excellent 3x4 Switch Plus along with two 1x4 Antenna switches. He assisted me over the phone when I had some questions with the installation. Julius provided extremely helpful suggestions which resulted in all of my equipment operating flawlessly. I can now switch between 3 transceivers and 3 different linear amplifiers and one antenna; all interfaced with W2IHY's designed audio system and 3x4 Switch Plus! Thank you, Julius, for your wonderful customer service and exceptional equipment design that you've provided to the amateur radio community!
