I got one off e-bay then looked into the other eqpt they do easy to set up and operate starting from the base settings that come with it.
I have had great reports with it and think they will sell shed loads

The W2IHY 8 Band Audio Equalizer has always worked as advertised in the 2+ years that I've owned it! Love the audio improvements to both rigs I've used it on, However, I connected it to my new IC-756ProIII the other day along with my RIGBlaster and got some tremendous hum. I couldn't pin it down to either device, so I emailed W2IHY and asked for an opinion. He called me 20 minutes later and troubleshot with me on the phone for about 45 minutes, determined the problem could be in his unit and asked me to send it back so he could take a look at it. Where do you find that kind of Customer Service these days? Thanks, Julius... keep up the great work! de N1IV

I own this one along with the EQ Plus. If you want great sounding audio, how can 85 top ratings be wrong? Great equipment from a great company!!

Great Audio Reports Time Owned: more than 12 months.
This is the easiest way to great audio reports. Only issue I had was a need to run a separate ground braid from the eq box to the rig to keep the RF out with the amp on. I used the monitor jack for the braid connection. A gnd stud would have been nice. Otherwise, works like a champ. Some folks find the noise gate a bit annoying, but works as advertised.

Shipped the kit in from Julius. Took a couple of evenings to build and worked fine after a couple of my own errors were eliminated. Use it with a Goldline and FT1000 mp Mk5 and I receive good audio reports all the time. The noise gate works fine too eliminating the noise from various equipment fans here in the shack. It does seem important that the unit is sited well away from strong magnetic fields from PSUs and linears, although I doubt whether the hum picked up will be heard over the air.

thank you julis this is a very well constructed unit. does what he say's it will do and the cables are of top notch design and work. ok it can be a bit tricky to setup and youll definatly want sevral freind's on the air giving you audio reports to fine tune and tweak it. but once you have it set well hott d-mn this works.i am using this on my ft-847 and a couple hams said wow!!! what radio you using jokingly i said harris comercial gear they said i can beleave that. when i told them the truth they couldnt beleave it. hey buy one these units from w2ihy you wont beleave it either it simply rocks oh by the wayi was using a simple cheap $12.00 mic. you should heard them when i hooked up the berringer well ok you have the poop on it now go get it you be happy you did

Excellent addition to the FT-1000MP Mark-V, and the Heil microphones. Makes the audio come alive! Excellent product, excellent customer service, what more could one ask for….

What more can I say about this product that has not already been said.
Placed my order for the 8 Band EQ on line, for some reason the system did not accept my order, E mailed Julias who called me at work and personally took the order. Unit arrived 4 days later. This is the type of outstanding customer service and attention to detail you don't often find, especially in the UK.
This EQ really sparles up the audio on my MK V, even the factory supplied MH-31 Hand mike now sounds unbelievable. It drives the transceiver perfectly ensuring every ounce of power on tap is used. The noise gate is also unbelieveable, high levels of shack background noise and Household QRM just vanish.
I wish I could give this product and customer service a higher +10 score, an excellent job Julias - can't wait to try the EQ Plus.
