All I can say is WOW! WHAT A DIFFERENCE THIS EQ MAKES!!!!! If you could give a product a score of 10, this one is an 11, hands down. I won’t regurgitate the features and accolades of the product again. You can read those for yourself in the 75 of 76 stellar reviews listed here.

I use the 8-band EQ with a Heil Goldline Pro feeding an IC-756 Pro II via the ACC1 socket. It took a little while to get it set up along with setting the correct amount of compression (very little) with the wide transmit filter, but it made the Goldline come alive. Not too much bass, not too much treble; just a good full articulate sound that matches my voice perfectly. It drives the rig nicely without overdriving the PA. I get unsolicited audio reports all the time and have no problems busting pile ups running less than 100 watts. I have the sound I always wanted and it didn’t take $1000 worth of outboard audio equipment to obtain that result.

I can't give kudos enough to Julius. He IS the MAN! All of the great things said about him in the previous reviews are dead on. I purchased mine as a kit. The first kit I had built in 25 years. My soldering skills were a little rusty and the eyes are not what they used to be, so the final result was less than desired. After I had put it together it had problems. Sent it to Julius and he fixed it. It worked OK for a few weeks and then starting acting up again. I was a little embarrassed to call him again, so it sat in my used equipment box for over a year. After fiddling with several outboard audio devices, I was not getting the quality of sound I desired. I decided that I needed more EQ control on transmit so I wrote Julius an e-mail and explained that I had one that didn't work, it was my fault due to lousy kit building skills and could I use my old one for some type of credit for a new unit. Julius replied by saying NO. Send it in and I'll fix it. No questions asked. I got it back in less than a week after receipt and it has worked flawlessly since. It is the only thing I use in the audio chain. All the other stuff is for sale. What else I can I say? The man stands behind his product and is the gold standard for customer service. Thanks Julius. I'm the owner of a 8ch equalizer of W2IHY. Just returned from Dayton Hamvention where I saw the new EQ Plus, a compressor and downward expander which add amazing enhancement and various effects to a SSB signal. It is interconnectable with the 8ch equalizer which makes him more interesting. I enjoyed the live demo as all the stuff was available to public for free live test using Heil microphones. It has many features as the proffesional downward expander which reduce the background noises in a faster way; a pre-set limiter correlated to the compressor; acoustic effects which improve the brightness and openess of the signal; a more effective compressor. The I/O connections are very flexible. I understand that the new toy will be available in the next few months as a kit or assembled product.

This is the shack toy everyone should own. I received mine from Julius in 3 days. Not being an audiophile I needed some help. Julius called me and went through all my settings on the air and the phone. The results were amazing! I have it installed it on a FT 1000mp with the Heil Classic and the MD 100. This thing really sparkles up both of these mics. I ordered an extra cable to hook up my FT 990 also. I have to say I am glad to add my review to the many here and must agree that this is a very well built piece of equipment. The service and care this man takes in his product must be commended. Nice work Julius and thank you for your contribution to our hobby.

A couple of weeks ago I was on 20M and there were 2 stations in the USA chatting and they had very nice audio, they spoke about the W2IHY so I looked up the EQ on the internet and contacted Julius, He was very helpful and replied to over 15 e-mail’s I sent. I ordered the EQ on the Sunday and sent an email on Wednesday to ask if he had sent the package. By the next morning it was on my desk over 3,000 miles away. I hooked it up and WOW. I won't go into all the techy details but the options are endless and the result is perfect. The end result is that if you want outstanding audio then you gotta get one of these

I am using the W2IHY 8 band EQ.
After 1 year the power transformer goes off and did not work anymore.
I send an email to Julius for advice.
Before i got answer he send me a new one with no questions.
Thats great..
I think this is one of the best services i ever got on hamradio market.
Buy one, your audio is like BBC and as i wrote above, great service.

Using the W2IHY Equalizer on AM Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have a W2IHY 8-band equalizer that I use with my FT1000MkV. I like to operate AM, and I enjoy the flexibility of adjusting the equalization with more precision than the built-in capability of the MkV. I think that this is a great product, and Julius is a role-model of excellence in product support.

When using the W2IHY equalizer for AM, as with any audio processing chain, it is important to be able to "invert the audio phase" to ensure that the largest excursions in your audio waveform are in the "positive" direction. Note that this equalizer introduces a polarity (phase) inversion when the equalization is on. An inversion doesn't matter for SSB use... but it could be important for AM use. I use a DPDT switching box between my balanced microphone output and the equalizer input to select the phase that works best on AM.

I bought the eq to run with my goldline pro.I did not think this mic could sound any better.Boy was i wrong the w2ihy made my audio better than bbc.Thanks julius for a top notch performer.

after spending a ton of money in rack equipment and the selling it,i desided to get this marvelous piece of equipment.
what do i think? the I was a fool to spend all that money for no reason, when this little box do almost the same and anyway this is AMATEUR RADIO not commercial broadcasting.

This little box of tricks has saved me money!
I was originally going to change my rig and microphone, but after purchasing it I was amazed at the results I got!

I use a FT-920AF and the Heil Pro-Set with the HC-5 insert, and it's made everything sound 100% better than it did before.
I was also amazed at the speed it came through the post to the UK, I ordered it on the Tuesday and had it on the doorstep on the Friday, what a turnaround!

I've now recommended it to a few of my friends and I know that 2 of them have ordered one each already.

FANTASTIC Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
I have used a great verity of different eq equipment and I have to say that this little 8 band eq can do all the work and more of larger and much more expensive eq's. I have the locals thinking that im running a MP 1000 with expensive studio equipment! I have invited them to my station to see what I really have and they are all awe struck at the W2IHY and its performance! This is my Favorite piece of equipment and I will never get rid of it!!!
