Description:
2 Port Linking Controller. The NHRC-4 is an inexpensive linking repeater controller. The controller has a "primary" and a "secondary" radio port. The primary port is used for the controlling repeater, and the secondary port can be used for a remote base, link radio, or "slaved" repeater. Unique courtesy tones provide feedback of the input source and link state.

Have three of these in operation right now, one replaced a CAT-300DXL that kept dying, read my review on that here as well, the other replaced a CAT-1000.

If you have a Cat Auto controller keep an NHRC ready to go for when it fails and leaves you hanging! Speaking of which, try calling Cat Auto for help, its always your equipment, his controller can't possibly be at fault.. Whatever!

I have been using the M2 version of this controller for 8 years without a hitch. Has just what i want without all the unneeded bells and whistles. Great for the price.

I bought the partial kit and built it with parts from Mouser. Solid performer with good audio and built in audio gating for each port. Nothing fancy; no synthesized audio nor clock. I recommend it to those who want a good sounding, flexible 2 port linking controller, and/or those who want to remote a mountain site repeater and solar power it as the NHRC-4 can be configured using extremely low current.
