Pile of Junk Time Owned: more than 12 months.
While it was working, it proved to have excellent reception on AM and SW. The internal ferrite rod is quite powerful on AM, while I pulled in many SW broadcasts from Turkey to Iran on just the whip antenna. It was even better with an external antenna. Unfortunately, the rotary band control became inoperative just after the warranty expired. Then I began experiencing problems with volume. Kaito refused to assist in any way, and I will never purchase another Kaito or Redsun product again. When the KA2100 finally would not operate at all, I threw it away.

Super Radio Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
This radio sells now for $99.00 on ebay. Its a hefty 5 pound portable that could be used as a base reciever. It has nice features and is quite sensitive. Easy to use, worth every $$ and pulls out those weak ones on short wave. Great for AM medium wave Dx'ing and FM is super. Has bass and treble controls and a digital frequency read out. Over-all I am quite suprised by its performance, sensitivity and selectivity. Performs to the max with an exterior antenna. This one is a keeper.
