Very happy Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Just got mine today from HRO.
I checked here in forum that not everybody like CN-801H.
I checked it with my IC-207 and got SWR=4. Wow !
Well , I relize what can be reason and connected
dummy load 50 Ohm . What do you think.SWR=1.
And my Low power=5Wt,Mid=19Wt and Hi=50 or 50.5Wt.
I think people complain about this SWR/Power meter because their doesn't measure on 50 Ohm antenna.Great built quality,Big scale.Just power
cord not long enough - but I can fix it easy.
I didn't check it yet on HF,but I expect good results.

Easy reading, but calibration is necessary. Expensive. Time Owned: more than 12 months.

I have two of these CN-801H meters for HF.

Calibration is very easy! There are two rows of calibration pots. From the back of the PCB the right row of three pots are for the SWR and the left row of three pots is for the power output (20 Watt, middle = 200 Watt, 2000 Watt). I used the Bird 43P as a standard.

The reading of these meters is very easy and user friendly.

I find them very expensive for the mechanical quality and the need of calibration.

For 145 MHz I find the H version not accurate enough. The V version (with N-connectors) is better.

good value Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I've had mine for two years, with no problems at all. Accuracy is very good.

Not as advertised ! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
This meter is NOT reading PEP,(peak envelope power). My Bird meter with PEP unit installed reads PEP and the Diawa reads about 50% of the Bird reading.
Also the instructions say "To measure the effictive radiated power, subtract the reflected power from the forward power."
They really should get their act together.
If you want what they advertise you DO NOT want this one.

Very Good Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
Received my CN-801 and found it to be very accurate. I use it on all power levels from QRP <1.0w to the legal limit on HF. Also find that it is very close to the Bird 43P on 144 MHz.

Nice instrument for the price.

Good meter but ... Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I have received the CN-801 from USA it did work but inaccurate all bands, it looks like a number of units came desaligned, but the unit is great big meter easy readable and fast needle, I did contact Daiwa just wanted some calibration instructions. I did receive a fast letter from Daiwa Japan and another from USA, with all the instructions to do it. It is very simple just get another calibrated meter and adjust some Calibration Pots inside the instrument.
I calibrated the unit for 50 MHz and I am very happy with the CN-801 once calibrated (in my case) it is a very good instrument.
I think it has been a terrible mistake at the manufacture and they will take care.

No complaints Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
And another positive review....
Just bought one today. Looks great and switches have a solid feeling. Scales are linear and within specs. Also: 20w on 20W scale is 20W on 200W scale. 100W on 200W scale is 100W on 2000W scale.
Of course I've read all reviews, and I hesitated a lot before buying, but I really can't see anything wrong with this meter.
Am I lucky to have a "good" unit? Maybe, but I'm sure not the only one ...

Highly Inaccurate for VHF Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
Daiwa advertises this meter as working up to 200mhz. Don't count on it. I wanted to use it on 2 meters. The readings were way off when compared to other wattmeters including a Bird 43. They call it the "Professional Series". It should be the "Junk Pile Series". Spend the extra money and get a good meter if you need accurate readings. I bought mine based on the eHam reviews at the time. Up until that point, all the reviewers had given it a 5/5. As you can see, since then there have been several reviewers who have experienced problems. Clearly Daiwa has a quality control problem. Perhaps their staff has been taking quality control advice from Yaesu.

SAD Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Just received mine. I love the large,easy-to-read
meter. The illumination is great. Looks fantastic.
But...Meter reads 1500 watts with only 1100 applied. Reads over 2000 with 1500 applies. None of the three scales are linear. Same inaccurate readings on reflected power. Apparently it wasnt calibrated at all. I will send mine back and buy something else.No quality control from Daiwa.

Perfect! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Just got my "new" one and it works great. Nice large display the meter is very accurate as compared to my bird 43 i was impressed and it looks a hell of allot better. The guy who gave it a 1 well its not to fair he got his from a ham swap and you know how those are buyer beware! It performs like all the other reviews stated. I bought this because of the 5 reviews.
