Works well! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I downloaded FLDIGI and installed. After going through the usual com port items, etc encountered by a less than computer savvy guy, I went on the make the final connections. The software looks good and operates vey well. Nice product.

No problems at all Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
Have been using this for about 12 months now and will certainly stick with it. It does what it says on the tin, No "go faster stripes" or "form over function" clutter. It is running in Windows 7 with no snags at all, although I think it was written for Linux originally and I feel life is to short to play around with that OS.
I can't comment on the rig control part of the software since all my rigs are operated by the armstrong method.
I have played around with all the others and find them to be ok but rather "over the top" for what is required. After all you only want to send and receive signals and log them, not make the coffee and sweep the lounge.

When I first installed fldigi 3.21.68 and turned it on, I did not get the operator setup wizard. Later I put in all the settings I needed and it worked fine. The settings were all saved. Later I had to drain and charge the netbook battery. After it was charged I removed the battery to use AC power only. When I opened fldigi, I got the operator setup wizard with all of my settings erased, which had taken a lot of work to enter correctly. As a possible solution, I recommend renaming the configuration file after the settings are saved, so fldigi does not overwrite it in the future.

I agree Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Works great for a FREE program. Yes it has some glitches. but for FREE it works very well. Complaining abt a FREE program like this is like complaining that your steak is rare when you didnt cook it in the first place.

At first sight this software (fldigi 3.21.66) appears an ideal choice for someone looking for an easy entry into data modes. Certainly a number of previous reviewers appear to be pleased with its performance.

However, I have suffered multiple crashes, each time losing setup information and macros etc. I am sure that the crashes were due to my inexperience in pressing the wrong keys at the wrong time but that should be not be a reason for the program to bomb out. The last time I used the program I lost my log half way through a competition. There appeared to be no way of retrieving it. There may be a means to keep an automatic backup as you progress, so as to cope with power cuts etc, but I was unable to find it in the manual. If this really is a vulnerability it is inexcusable without there being a big health warning on the label. It should be mentioned that I experienced the same problems on two different computers so I don't believe my setup was at fault.

On a more minor note I found aspects of the manual inadequate. By way of example, in competition mode it is not clear how you set the start counter to 001.

Many aspects of fldigi are well implemented and it is a shame that what appear to be inherent weaknesses let it down. I see little point in spending further time with the program.

Best so far Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Having used HRD + dm78o suite for a few years I moved to fldigi a few weeks ago.... Wish I had done this two years ago,,,,, HRD dm780 stuttering, locking up, thought it was the pc but the mate has an I7 +_16g ram and his does the same..... No problems with fldigi,,,, running with an M0AQC interface, I have three of these for different rigs, work perfectly,,,,, FT2000 is flawless on fldigi with an old tower pc...now I can use my modern laptop for other hobbies,,,, Psk etc decodes easily, very slight traces, no problem,, on cqww160cw last weekend it decoded everything it could see, in a few hours, 33 countries with a mock up of an antenna,,hi,,,

Super Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Installed under Linux Kubuntu 12.04LTS. It runs flawlessly. Compared to HRD and Windows it draws much less CPU making my old Pentium 4 happy. Great on many digi modes and not bad for CW decoding too. Ergonomics is excellent. Easy to use.

Excellent Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I have used several different software programs, but wanted a program that was simple and easy to use. I finally settled on Fldigi. After help from Dick Kriss, AA5VU, I was able to get Fldigi to work well with my Kenwood TS-590S. I am pleased with its various features. In my opinion, some similar programs try to do too many things, instead of focusing on doing a few things well.

Disappointment Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Referring to my review the other day. After a couple of days I removed the fldigi and installed the HRD again. Fldigi has too many bugs. Unexpected things happen like I lost my own macros again and again but I had copy so no disaster but very irritating. It looks for me that this program is homemade and stills many things to fix. The HRD is much more professional and no unexpected disasters happen. Just like compare a cheap and an expensive car

One of the best programs & it's free! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I've been a fan of both DigiPan and MixW for PSK31 operation. I've used them both extensively. Recently in a QSO with a G3, he kept telling me to try Fldigi, so I did. I was amazed at it's capabilities.

For transmit purposes, all 3 of these programs work great. However, with Fldigi, I found that with weaker signals and close in QRM, it managed to decode the weaker signals better than DigiPan and MixW.

Having used DigiPan and MixW for years, it took a little time to get used to it, but now I find I prefer it. I registered MixW almost 10 years ago and must admit, I like it! But from now on, for PSK31, I think that Fldigi will be my program of choice.
