Good filter, if you don't mind the ringing. Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I'm surprised no one else has mentioned the ringing this filter exhibits in an IC-706 environment. I've noticed it and so have others who use it but haven't posted a review here. The FL-232 @ 350Hz used for RTTY and CW is a bit narrower, but does NOT ring. The FL-101 for CW @ 250Hz bandwidth doesn't ring, either, but many operators find it too narrow (signals are either there or totally gone) for most casual use.

Why a slightly wider filter @ 500Hz rings with its siblings do not, I do not know. In any case, the FL-100 is better than no narrow CW filter, but I have found the FL-232 @ 350Hz to be a better choice for me.

If you're still running an Icom radio that uses this series of 9MHz filters and "don't have one" you may still want to snap one up for your CW operating, as they are becoming very rare (all types) on the used market.

Great filter Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Easy to install and priced very nicely. I really prefer the Icom FL232 350hz filter for CW but the FL100 also does a great job. Can't go wrong with one for your 706/746/756/737/738/736/725/728 series radios.

Great job Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
This filter makes a world of difference for pulling in weak stations. Using the 746's ANF with the filter increased intelligibility of the received signal greatly, even with rtty stations nearby.

Makes a difference Time Owned: more than 12 months.
The 500hz CW/RTTY filter makes a huge difference, I think the 500hz is a good width, the 250hz and 350hz may be better in the big contest, but if you have to take one or the other, the 500hz is the best overall choice for regular work and contest. I just love it on RTTY, it's made a tremendous difference there, I will be copying a station solid and switch it out of line and the station disappears in the slatter, I love it.
