	Description: Modification to the Icom HM-151 hand microphone that comes with the Icom IC-7000. This mod fixes the poor FM audio that this microphone and radio combination has from the factory. The modification replaces the mic element and a capacitor, adds a shaped acoustic foam shell, widens the mic opening, adds a wind screen (pop filter) and a 1oz weight to the microphone shell.

Hi just thought i would write a report on this fantastic mic mod. My radio is yes an icom-7000 which like everybody's, had low audio. HAD low audio, the only problem you have got really is how fast can you get the mod from AB5N, Which is very fast, So if you own an ic-7000 AB5N Bob is your only hope ................. appreciate the rig mod the mic.ITS THAT EASY.5/5.73's.M3VRV.

Great worthwhile mod			Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
I really like the IC-7000 but the mic was not up to a standard I thought I would get from a $1300 radio. I read about the AB5N mod and decided to try it. It was sent out and returned within 3 days...what a difference! On FM it sounded much better than before and on SSB I could run the mic gain down around 50% without the comp on. This is a worthwhile mod....although I hope Icom takes a note from this. You make some good rigs but don't sell great radios with crap mics!

This is a "Must Have" Upgrade to any Ic-7000 Microphone. This Man is a true electronics Marvel who understands the problem, and fixed Icom's well known low audio microphone. He is well known in the business for his many years of devoted time on working with high end commercial equipment. I read several reviews of Bob's (AB5N) mod for the HM-151 Mic that comes stock with the Icom 7000.. I decided to take a chance and have my Mic modified by him.. what a difference.. Now I am not under modulated and the audio is awesome on all the reports I get..FM,SSB and AM.. His mod lit up my Radio.. If you own a IC 7000, you need to send your Mic to Bob..FAST service..I sent it to him on Monday and had it back on Friday.. Fantastic turn around.. 30 yr Ham here telling you this.. Doug N7JGN

I've got to agree with reviewers here. From start to finish, excellent communication, you know when the mike is there and when it leaves. And it does not stay anywhere for very long - extremely fast service - you can send your mike and have it back within a week including the shipping! Friendly service and very competent. From the outside you can't tell he's been on the inside, except for a tiny bag of parts he needs to remove/replace. Mike works great!

I heard so much about this mod on the HM-151 mic that when I got my 7000 I didn't even take it out of the box until I got the mic modded by Bob Nagy. Very good mod. I told Bob he should charge more, but he said he wanted to make the mod an easy decision. For me it would have been if it cost twice as much. The mic left my house in Dallas, TX on Wed-UPS gnd, got to Bob in Hot Springs, AR Thursday, Bob received it and finished it sent it back UPS gnd same day, I got it Friday morning (today). I looked at the notes Bob sent for mic gain. The radios defaults worked fine. Couldn't be more pleased. Best service I've received from anybody for anything in a long, long time. Mark up another 5/5 for AB5N - Icom 7000 mic. modification. Good job Bob!!

I will Update my former review! I cannot say enough of the Improvement to the Audio of the Icom HM-151 microphone! I e-mailed Bob Nagy several times before sending him my microphone! He e-mailed me to let me know the microphone had been mailed back to me and when I received it in the mail it was well packed! Anyone having a IC-7000 should consider this modification to their IC-151 microphone! The improvement is Great! I get lots of compliments on the audio of my radio ! This is a update to my former review ! I have used the microphone for a couple of weeks and can't say enough positive to to the improvement !
