Great Improvement Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
I have been a bit slow in posting this review. The N3CW modification to the keyer really makes it much more user friendly. I find the height of the finger pieces to be almost perfect and the separation from the keyer a huge improvment. The keyer seems much more responsive now. Now to add a memory to the keyer....

Comfortable to use, easy to adjust, and great modification. Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
This is a great modification allowing easy and quick adjustment to set the keyer paddle contact spacing and tension. The base weight with the rubber feet prevents moving around when using. The paddles are positioned at the correct height which makes it very comfortable to use. It is really great to be able to locate the keyer paddle away from the HD-1410 keyer and without taking a lot of desktop space. The keyer paddle can be easily connected/disconnected from the HD-1410 keyer.

This is a great modification for an old keyer. Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
The HD-1410 never did feel right. There was no comfortable position for your hand. It also took up a large space on the desk. This mod brings the paddles lower and easier to adjust. Before you had to take the cover off to adjust them. The mod is mounted on a heavy black piece of steel with a smaller footprint than the original keyer. It is wired with a 3 conductor mini cable which can be extended if needed with an additional male-female cable. You are given the choice of new red or black paddles. It looks very professional and looks a little like the old "Wire Chief's Key". I recommend this mod if you want to keep your old 1410 in service and add a very unique keyer to your station desk.
The turn around is only a few days and the key comes packed very well in a Priority Mail Flat Rate Postal box.
