Essential equipment! Time Owned: more than 12 months.
My M-840 was one of the very first ones to be delivered. I've been using it for almost 12 years now, and it hasn't missed a beat. It's a great tool for demonstrating that SWR does not change when power level goes up or down.

Top Notch! Sadly no longer made. Time Owned: more than 12 months.
This excellent piece of gear was a favorite item in my shack. You can easily see it from across the room with it's bright LED columns showing your pwr and SWR. This unit was reviewed and recommened by Kurt N. Sterba of World Radio and that's where I first heard about it. I like the three pwr rages and the fact that it won't go belly up if you forget to change ranges when going from QRP to QRO. No need to 'set' the SWR, it works at any pwr level. I just really like watching the 'dancing' LED's so much better then squinting at a meter face. Why PE (or someone like them) doesn't manufacture this unit any longer is a mystery to me, too too bad!
