Neutral is not the third prong Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I'm getting a lower power, true-sine-wave inverter, the Xantrex XS400. However... neutral is not the ground pin; it's the wider of the two flat prongs on a US power plug, and is not supposed to be grounded inside AC powered equipment.

Good, but that fan noise... Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
Like most inverters, it works fine but the fan noise is disturbing. However it has a two-speed fan that it activated by current draw, not heat. Up to 100 watts, the fan is off. At 100 watts the fan runs on low. At 108 watts the fan oscillates between low and a higher speed. Distracting. At a bit above that but before 180 watts, the fan runs on high. The fan continues to run on high until the inverter is recycled. See my review of the Sima STP-325 325W inverter.

Problem: "Do not connect any AC load, which has it neutral conductor connected to ground, to the Xpower." Instructions, p. 5. Workaround: Use 3-prong to 2-prong adapters.
Problem: "...The Xpower is not intended for use as an uninterruptible power supply..." Instructions, p. 38.
Solution: This probably means the inverter does not like a full load applied at once.

It easily handles a computer, a monitor, and lots of ham radio accessories. It is RF quiet. But that fan...!
