better choices Time Owned: N.A.
Larger than Eton 100, smaller than an Eton 5. Plastic and bulky to handle. 30 presets, 10 on each band (am,fm,sw). No tuning knob. Slow to lock on to frequency when using up or down button. Decent sensitivity. 2 position tone switch for high or low: unlike the subtle difference between these settings on many sets, there is no question about it that the listener is presented with a clear choice. The decent sensitivity is dealt a blow by

a)very poor dynamic range...one station on the 6 Mhz band occupied the entire band using just the whip ( did not deploy the 2 position dx or local attenuator switch)!

b)inaccurate frequency allignment...display appears to read 2 or 3 Khz too high

c)poor selectivity...strong stations that are not overloading the radio still occupy 20 Khz of space

d)inability to tune to a resolution lower than 5Khz steps
