Simply the best!!!!!! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I recently sent in my TS-850S for an alignment and to have the battery relocated. A few days later, Tim called me and advised he had found a couple of other things that should be addressed along with some damage that had occurred in shipping. We had a very nice conversation about what to do and the cost which was very reasonable. A few days later, I got the radio back, working fine and the replaced parts were also sent along with the radio which I found awesome. If you need work done, this is the place to go. A good tech, honest and reliable.

Fast and Effective Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
My Yaesu FT857 was repaired by Tim. He diagnosed the problem quickly and let me know what the fix and the charge would be, then made the necessary repairs. (Not transmitting SSB HF, replaced 3 filters)

The turn time was very quick.... I'm not sure he paused to eat between when he received it and sent it back. :-)

His labor, parts, and shipping costs were all very reasonable.

Fast, Fair and Great Price Time Owned: more than 12 months.
My Yaesu 857-D suddenly had no TX power on HF. I love that little radio and won't trust it to just anybody. A friend recommended Tim at Midwest Technical Services. He is awesome! I shipped the radio from my home in Florida. Tim had the issue diagnosed and repaired quickly and his price was reasonable. I would not hesitate to use Tim again in the future.

HONEST, FAIR, REASONABLE, GREAT COMMUNICATION-AAA++ Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I sent Tim my Kenwood 590 for repair. The radio was purchased used. Worked well for awhile and started exhibiting several issues, ie; Off Frequency 30-40hz and ALC issues. I asked Tim to give the radio a good look over including the items I specified. He completed the repairs, updated the radio settings in the menu's to the proper levels and updated the firmware. I am so happy that I sent the radio out to him. Communication via email and telephone calls were simple and pleasant as Tim explained what he found and what was needed to make the necessary repair. Quick turnaround...I highly recommend Tim for all of your repair issues...Send Tim work for repair. You will be glad you did!

Honest and fast turn around Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I bought a pre-owned FT-817nd. While waiting for a spool of wire for HF counterpoises, I stated working the repeaters on UHF using the stock antenna on a 90-degree BNC connector. After a couple of days, I started getting a HIGH SWR warning and the the power out was cut way back. I panicced. I thought I damaged the finals. I called Tim. The preliminary diagnosis was grim, possible problems with the finals.. Tim diagnosed the rig and found reset the SWR protection on all bands and reset the frequency. The final charge was less than half of what it could have been if the preliminary diagnose held up.

Can't be beat! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
A couple of months ago I experienced a nagging little issue with my FTdx3000. I looked over the reviews here and decided to give Tim a try. I emailed him a video link to show what my radio was doing and he replied almost right away with his thoughts, with an estimate on what it would cost to fix. I decided to ship the radio out to him and from the time it was delivered to on its way back to me was remarkable. He let me know when he received it, specifically what the problem was and it was on its way back to me the day after. Should I need any of my equipment worked on in the future, I won't be looking for anyone else. Thanks Tim!

Best service !! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Had a low TX power issue on an FT-991 I acquired for a song. After doing some internet research and talking with some local hams, I decided to send it for service. I emailed Tim at Midwest Technical Services. He got right back to me and said he would check it out and let me know. I sent it, he advised that it had 1 dead FET. He replaced both FET's and had the radio back to me in 3 days! The whole service trip was 8 days total, shipped there-repaired-shipped back. He is a great guy to work with, has affordable rates, is thorough and honest and is definitely recommended if you are in need of radio repair. Job well done Tim, thanks !!!!

FIRST CLASS SERVICE Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I sent Tim my Icom 765 which had multiple issues. I emailed him to check on UPS delivery and he replied that he got ok, already had it done and was just about to email me. He solved the 80 meter tuning issue, solved the intermittent all band power out issue, replaced a few bad trimmers and the internal battery, adjusted and aligned it as needed. Literally sent it to him and had it back in about a week.

Excellent fast service! Time Owned: more than 12 months.
My Kenwood TS-590 lost receive on only 3.5MHz. all else worked. I briefly had e-mails with Tim, sent it in and within three days it was repaired. The return using Fed EX was great as well. I asked Tim to make sure the TCXO was "right on" as I use 50MHz for EME and other digital modes which require very close tolerances. This was accomplished. This is not the first time I've used Tim's services, and as always it is 100% A-OK work. 73

Our radio club had two radios that were in need of repair. The older of the two, the TS-430 had no readout and other problems were noted. It was completely restored to where it preforms 100%.

The other Kenwood a TS-450 was very noisy, the receiver audio was intermittent. Power output was not the same on all the bands. It too was repaired to a 100% useable radio.

Both were repaired quickly for fair prices. If you are looking for a quality repair shop contact Tim. He e-mails results so you know the status of the unit. Thanks Tim 73 John W9JN, president of Central Wisconsin Radio Amateurs LTD

In November 2015 I had no output from a IC-207H 144/440 FM radio. Being a former customer of Tim, I sent in the unit. It was repaired in less than a week with 100% capabilities restored. His services are to be trusted and his charged prices are very fair. TU 73 John W9JN
