*** OWNED 1 week - FIRST IMPRESSIONS ***
I must say the same as the other - only to listen to this tranceiver is GREAT. When you own a 765 PRO 2 or 3 you can setup the 7700 for start in only 10 minutes - EASY TO USE - SPLIT MODE is new to set but when you do it several times you make it automatic.
I do 20-30 SSB QSO (across the world) and I got only radio 5 with the SM-20 mic - AV-640 Antenna and +/- 120 watts. In 1 or 2 month I write the next review here. TNX ICOM FOR THIS NEW TRANCEIVER

First Impression Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Well after long wait,
( At least it seemed that way )
I received my IC 7700. I replaced my Pro III with
the 7700 and wile waiting for the new radio i sold
the Pro III.
Buying the 7700 was a big step. Never payed this much for any one piece of Amateur radio equipment.

My first impression was WOW, Very nice piece of equipment. Large and takes up some room in my shack.
I was impressed with the quiet receiver. Still have not had a lot of time to play with it. NB works nicely. Rtty and PSK if your into Digital
modes also is a nice feature, Don't need a computer, just hook up a USB Keyboard and your off and running.
Antenna tuner works just fine as long as your trying to tune around 3.1 and lower. at first it's slow to tune but after it puts the freq's into memory it's quite fast.

The feature of the internal power supply
switch is on the back of the radio is one thing
i am uncomfortable with, I was brought up with
my mother saying ( Turn off everything when you
leave the house ) A habit i still do today. lol

So you have to reach around back to turn off the power supply. I have to read more in the manual
on this just in case i missed something.

Manual is quite large

Big screen is nice for us older hams. Easy to read. I am still learning about this radio
but my first impression is ( NICE )

Lot's of features i still have to play with.
But easy to setup.
