He saved my K3 doorstop Time Owned: more than 12 months.
He did an awesome job saving my K3 from being a doorstop under my desk for 2+ years to being my good old faithful K3. He was very informative about his findings and progress on my K3 throughout the whole process, from delivery to him to shipment to my QTH. Without a doubt, I will recommend him for any K3 repair.

K2 1112 upgrade and repair Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
in 2021 I needed help after installing an IC chip backwards of my k2AT early in the build and botching the removal which lifted a pad. Poor eye site and shaky hands. I contacted Alan and sent him the project and replacement IC I had ordered. Less then 2 weeks it was completed and on its was back. Great service and workmanship.

Update: I sent my k2 #1112 to Alan early in Feb 2024 to update, build the KAF2 and KIO2, and do an alignment.

While he was under the hood he found some other repaires needed including AF and RF gain controls and asked if I wanted the fixed level audio mod and the updated SSB firmware. His comunications were great, confirming the additional findings.

As usual the workmanship is great and I had it back by the end of the month. A fantastic and resonable transactual experiance.

K3 Repair and Alignment: Outstanding service! Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Alan did a thorough and fast repair of my older K3, which was having firmware update issues. He resolved that issue, aligned the radio, and checked for updates. During the process he kept me up to date on his progress. Turnaround was fast, especially so considering the backlog at the factory.

He is very responsive, easy to talk to, and his rates are reasonable. I highly recommend Alan for any Elecraft repairs and will engage him again if needed for my other Elecraft equipment.

K3 Service and Repair Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have an older K3 and it had problems with the final amp dropping out during heavy contesting. Alan repaired that, did an alignment and found a couple of other things that needed attention. He is easy to communicate with and is very responsive. The cost and turnaround time were fair and reasonable. I would recommend him to anyone needing Elecraft radio repairs.

When my 22 year old K2/100 developed a power output problem, I sent it to Alan. He identified and corrected the problems and performed a thorough alignment of the radio, keeping me informed along the way. I now have a "new" old radio. Thanks, Alan. Turnaround time was about 2 weeks including shipping time.

Excellent and Efficient K3 Repair Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Alan repaired my K3 which had been damaged so that the SWR and power readings were seriously wrong. I also had him do a complete calibration since the K3 was about 9 years old. He had to get replacement parts from Elecraft but kept me informed of progress.

I found Alan to be very competent in diagnosing and repairing my rig. If I need any Elecraft repair in the future, I would send it to Alan.

Was a true pleasure to work with Alan. Had him repair and reconfigure and recalibrate my K3S that was damaged during Field Day. Multiple boards were damaged and had us both scratching our heads. Like getting a new rig and I have a new friend too!
