Best buy in G5RV antennas Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Opened the box, lowered the Cobra Antenna I had been using, and in less than an hour I was talking to a guy in New Jersey, another in San Diego and yet another in Hawaii. All on 20 meters using about 50 watts. With no tuner 80, 40 and 20 meters read less than 1.2 SWR. I'm impressed. Out performed the Cobra by a lot. The Cobra was OK, but did require a tuner on all but the 160m band. Antenna appears to be very well built, uses no balun, good quality 300 ohm ladder line. A real buy, don't think you could build one for the $50 cost.

A lot of antenna for the money Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Bought one for field day over a year ago, worked great for that. Put it up at home in a horizontal sloping triangle 60 ft on one end, 30ft on the others. Brought the balanced feeder to the shack where I used a 4 to 1 balun. Worked every ham band from 80 thru 6 meters. Works locals and good dx too. In some instances its better than the quad beam on some bands. Autotuner tunes all the bands FB. If you got the room try it!

Value for money Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I spend far too much time on the internet, but sometimes it just pays off. i came across the site for Joe owner of KK9TR wire antennas in Florida, after a couple of e-mails regarding the antennas construction, shipping costs and general ham banter, hey presto-before i knew it i had ordered a full size loop for 75/80mtrs, payment a breeze via paypal, 3 days later it arrived here via U.S.P.S in S.W France, packaged properly and all for the grand total of a shade over $100. I would struggle to buy the wire and insulators here for that amount.
The antenna looks and feels robust, proper 14awg wire, nice egg insulators.
I cannot wait to get it up in the air.
Will i deal with Joe again, mais oui (thats French for 'too right i will)
Nice product, nice gentleman and an even better price...
All in all i'm a very happy ham...
Regards to all Adrian
