Maybe not real radio but ..... Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
There's no claim that CQ100 is ever going to replace "real" radio but it is great fun, an alternative mode of communicating with hams in the ham community.

The point is communicating and that's exactly what CQ100 allows you to do with no QRM, QRN or QSB!

It is what it is and, I personally, think it's a great idea for the folks that have difficulty getting on the air in the more traditional ways. I talked to one chap who lives in assisted accomodation and has nowhere to site an antenna, another chap who lives in a condo and, again, can't erect an antenna so for them it's an alternative to 'traditional' radio.
It's just another way to communicate so it's a +++++ from me, live & let live I say!

It's not RADIO Time Owned: more than 12 months.
The good thing is, it has good audio without the normal back ground Hiss, BPL interference, etc.. However, let's not equate it to radio as it is nothing more than Internet talk programs, IE: Skype, MSN, etc.. Tried the trial period, but I do not want to use the internet. Despite not having the ability to set up an "antenna farm", I won't resort to a FAUX amateur radio setup. Will continue with my very small antenna system and keep on the air waves to try and keep amateur radio in perspective.
