Really Very Good NMO Mount Antenna Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I installed the NMO version of this antenna on the roof of my truck. I used a Tram NMO mount with 17ft of coax and the SWR of the system when tested with an analyzer was less than 1.5 to 1 across ALL of the 2m band. In road tests with this antenna system and my Icom 2300H which I know well I have found it performs very well indeed. The antenna is quite stiff so there is no apparent signal loss when driving because the antenna does not sway back and forth. I have seen the highest S units using this antenna and have so far even heard repeaters which I had not heard before. It really does make a big difference. My previous antenna was a 5/8th wave mag mount, which had a softer and more flexible whip which caused periodic signal loss and lower S units over all, and higher SWR across the band. Money well spent!

Gain & Wave: 4.1 dBi, center-load 5/8 wave
VSWR: 1.5:1 or less
Max Pwr: 200 Watts
Length: 57"
Fold-over hinge included

Best so far !! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I started with a comet 2x4, which worked well.
I moved to a Larsen 150b for an average of 1 "s" unit improvement across the board on my Kenwood 710.
Tonight I tried bouncing off the same repeaters again with the sbb-25, and I was impressed when I gained another "s" unit or better across the same handful of repeaters.
It is well made and I wouldn't hesitate to purchase again.
I'm surprised it's not more popular!

Great monobander for 2 meters Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
Great mobile 5/8 wave monobander. Priced right and works better than expected off the top back back of my car with a hatch mount. Recommended!

I am very happy with this antenna Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I have now had this antenna for the last year. I am using it as my base station 2 meter antenna with my Kenwood TM-281. I have it mount about 30 feet up my tower with 4 radials. I have no problems hitting one of our repeaters which is 31 miles away. I was surprised that I was able to make several simplex contacts 25 miles away through some of rough terrain here in the Black Hills of South Dakota. Granted I live along the top of a ridge line which helps. I plan on buying another one for my pickup later this month.

Great antenna Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have 2 and have installed a few for friends. The coverage to my local repeater is better with this antenna than any of the several others that I have tried

Great value for the price Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
I recently replaced an old Tram dual band antenna with the Comet since I don't play on 440 MHz. I was looking for the most gain for the money and the Comet seemed to fit the bill. The antenna sits on the roof of my Chevy Cavalier and is a pleasure to use. The antenna is quiet, receives great, does FB getting my signal out and my analyzer showed the antenna was flat across the repeater frequencies I use. I highly recommend it.

Very nice, good quality Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I recently bought this antenna (the NMO mount version) to replace my aging Radio Shack antenna and I must say that I'm really impressed with it. The 5/8 wave antenna really works well to get into distant repeaters, and I love the design. It looks nice & sharp on my truck. I also like the foldover design for entering low parking garages, etc. Just unscrew part of the antenna, pull out & fold over.

The great thing about this antenna is that I didn't have to do anything to set the VSWR. I just put it together and then checked it with my antenna analyzer, and it is resonant with 1.5:1 or better from around 137 to about 167 MHZ.

Overall I'm very pleased with this antenna.

Excellent x 3 Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I own three of them. I use them with a IC-2200H and two FT-2900Rs. One is on my truck, one is on my S-Type Jag (rear Licence plate mount) and one I use with a mag mount on the metal roof of my office. I have no problem reaching folks in Seattle and Olympia from Tacoma, Washington! A great 5/8ths wave antenna!

Simply the best Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I realize how good this antenna is after I tried a Diamond SG7900 on my car. With the Diamond SG7900 I'm unable to reach my echolink node from a location where my Comet SBB-25 reach it with goods reports. No noise at all on reception or transmission from several locations while the SG7900 include a annoying french fries cooking noise.

None Better Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I'm not sure how you can get better than this on 2m. I have a Dodge Ram with this antenna (nmo) mounted in the middle of the roof. There is no better antenna available. Performance is unbelievable. Never had a bad report. I use simplex and get great reports always. Great quality construction. I get asked what I'm using all the time. It does not get better people. For $39 ?? I use an Icom v8000 with this, and seems to be a strong combo. Buy it! Only downfall is it is a mono bander!!
