"Sexy" dual bander 40/30m Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
After a long silence of nearly 4 years due to house move, I make up my mind to get back on the air. My objective was to find out an optimum antenna configuration covering 40 through 10 meters without requiring several towers.

I decided to choose a 3 el. 40/30m dual bander from DXBeam. This antenna has been installed 22 meters above ground since end of December 2008. Day after day, the large number of QSOs made either on 40 or on 30m just reinforces my decision. Some comments posted to the DX clusters confirm the antenna's efficiency: it’s so easy to break through the pile-up! Bandwidth, F/B ratio and overall performance are entirely satisfactory for a two-element yagi, an effective tool reminding me of some pleasant feelings.

This appropriate design, made from a quality material at a reasonable cost, cannot be recommended enough to all those who wish to optimize their installation.

Sometimes I enjoy working stations while running extremely low power on 30m, e.g., latest contact made with Mike, WA3SLN (5500 km), with 100mW. He has keen hearing, Mike!

Some pictures can be accessed at http://pagesperso-orange.fr/f5mux/, accompanied with few audio samples of different QSOs made with this antenna.

Next step: A 4 el. 20/10m SteppIR will be installed some meters below the other one.
