excellent Time Owned: N.A.
Fast turn around time at a resonable cost. You can call and speak to the tech and they even return calls. Very good service.

Icom IC-718 Time Owned: more than 12 months.
This is the third time I have used Bill's services.
as before he told me what was wrong after checking it over gave me a price and and stayed with in the budget that I told him I would spend on the repair.

He had little longer time getting the IC that he needed but the rig was received back in a timely manner working well with no scratches dents ect.

I would recommend them for all your repairs old and new.

Kenwood TS-940 Repair Time Owned: N.A.
I have an early serial number (6 million) 940 that has worked like a champ since I bought it in 2001 until I really needed it after Katrina at which time it wouldn't transmit.
I went through the "940 page" and various other resources going through the usual, unplug everything, plug it back in, checked the finals, et al, to no avail. Once I decided to "punt" and send it off for repair, I found a shortage or repair facilities. So, I inquired at my friendly local Atlanta HRO and they told me about Bill Waller,KC4OVY, at Clairmont Skyland TV and Radio just a short trip away.

To make an epic novel a short story, I dropped off the radio at lunch on a monday and the following thursday, my beloved 940 was ready to go. Not only was the transmit working, but Bill took the time to spec out the rest of the radio including the service bulletins. It turned out that I had a burned up pot which caused a chain reaction killing an opamp and resistor, which I never would have found (a long way from unplugging everything and wiggling connectors).

I found Bill and the staff to be very friendly and helpful. Don't let the "TV" in the name fool you. These guys specialize in Kenwood, Yaesu, Icom, Alinco and Collins (Bill is a big Collins fan).
They even give hams a "high priority" phone number. Bill was more than happy to take the time out of his busy schedule to talk radios and even lend extensive technical guidance in my next new rig selection.

If there's anything to complain about, it's their lack of web page. Although they're listed on the Alinco page as a service center, it would be nice to go to a web page to check rates or check on status of a radio. But they've been around since the 50's and still do things "the old fashioned way" which is also nice.
By the way, I just got the 940 back on the air today (saturday) with "better than before" signal reports from my regular group.

Great Service Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I also had great service on an Alinco DX-70 from Clairmont Skyland Radio & TV Repair. Good tech knowledge and fast turn around.
