Review Summary For : Hf Project Battery extender
Reviews: 1MSRP: 74
Description:
K500R has designed a useful device for field operation with radios which just need to 13+ volts to operate correctly. The "Battery Extender" or voltage booster will keep you operating when your batteries reach the dropout voltage of your radio. An FT-897 for example just doesn't much like anything below 12 volts. The radio's microprocessor starts to get unstable. This "Battery Extender" will boost the voltage to about 13.5 volts with very high effieciency and with a simple modification can provide other voltages as well. The price tag is half the price of other offerings available if you opt for the simple kit. For only $20 more it comes assembled.

Works lik a charm Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Keeps radio working when my battery is draggin. Simple fun kit. Easily mod to adjust output voltage. Lowest cost I could find.

Not really designed to power a 100 watt rig but works great at lower power settings.
