Won't do a 24 hour reset. Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I have an Acurite 00614 Rain Gauge mounted about 30 feet from the display. The signal strength shows 4 full bars (a good signal). It will NOT reset the 24 Hour rainfall reading as it should. The only two ways to reset are to do hold down the display button or to remove and reinstall the batteries. But, this resets BOTH the 24 Hour and the Accumulated totals. There seems to be no way to reset only the 24 hour total.

A call to Acurite customer service indicated the unit has an internal clock and is supposed to reset the 24 Hour total daily at 24 hours after the batteries are installed. Mine does not.

The CS Rep. also told me that the Energizer batteries I used are "...too strong for the instrument.") Really? I had to tell the CS Rep that I found this incredible. She said I should use Duracell because the Energizers are too strong. (Wow!)

I returned the gauge to Lowes and got another one. It has the same problem. Customer Service is no help what-so-ever.

None of this reset (or claimed battery question) is covered in the very meager User Manual.

I recommend this gauge for making the measurement but you must plan on doing the reset yourself on your own schedule. It will not do it automatically. The self-emptying feature is cute.

Excellent for the Price Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I have owned the unit for six months and am very pleased with it. The worse item was that it has to be protected in freezing weather. Tech support has been excellent, or better. Accuracy is excellent too.

New, Improved, Great Value Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
After using the Acurite Wireless Weather Station and Wireless Rain Gauge for several years, I recently purchased the New & Improved Acurite 00614 from WalMart for Only $28. Indeed, I find this new model to be even more accurate and precise with many new features and of course, outstanding value, satisfaction guaranteed. Why pay more ???
