Great Choice for Ham Radio and Other Uses Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Good, low cost, solid build, super sounding microphone for ham radio and general use in other applications. Excellent value and solid performance for the cost. Nearly any microphone at this price point will cover the necessary 3000 Hz audio bandwidth and provide flat, uncolored frequency response from 100 to 5000 Hz - far more than we use in ham radio. That makes this a great value and solid good sounding microphone - put the money you save into a better antenna! K8JHR

Tried one on Icom Pro III Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
I thought Id add this comment for Icom Pro III users as I am using the Samson Q6 dynamic microphone on the ICOM... I used Accessory plug 1 and added a foot switch then wired the Q6 directly to the front microphone jack ( foot switch ptt ) set the Icom equalizer ( mic ) to Bass -3 and Treble +3 . Mid setting on mic gain ..reports are excellent !!! Better than most mics Ive tried.

The Samson Q6 can be found from dealers for around 40 to 50 bucks. But that shouldnt make you suspicious this high quality dynamic microphone (around 500 to 600 ohms) is perfect for most rigs and on the air test have shown me its awesome communication quality..this popular vocal microphone with singers also gave reports better than my sm20 most handhelds I own and even some Heil Hmx elements i tried..Im sold using this microphone.

GREAT MIC, EXCELLENT VALUE Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
This microphone was on sale for 30 US$ here.Gave it a try on my TS-480 (thanks to bobby K4CWO for your help/opinion great ham spirit!!) and i am glad i did, the mic sounds as good as my ex- Heil GM-5 (on the wide setting) and requires almost the same audio settings on the TS-480 too. I get the best results with mic @70, proc in @45, proc out @65 and TX DSP @HB2 (HB1 will work too, all others sound too muddy/bassy). For the money i cannot praise it high enough. Ah yea, before i forget, i use the Heil XLR 3 pin cable, which is of excellent quality (thanks Heil!) Recommended to anyone who wants to sound natural and clear on the air! Luv it!

Excellent reports. Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Bought the Sampson Q6 from Sam Ash Music store for $39. It is complete with 20 feet of cord and a 3 pin XLR. 500 Ohms, Dynamic, 50-15000 Hz response. All metal. Using it on a boom with foot switch. Currently on my Kenwood TS-2000, with EQ set for High Boost on. Everyone says it sounds great! Using it on 6M SSB mostly (Central Va Six Meter SSB Net-50.216)and 75M.
