Happy with it. Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
Small, Clean and Quiet, no hash or other annoyances. I didn't find the fan to be too offensive. Lighting for the meters would be a nice addition.

Quiet Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Flawless after two years use. Some say the fan is very noisy. Must be a defect because mine fan is very quiet still. I power my icom 7000 with this amp. Thinking of buying another one as I want to use a 2 meter amp. on ssb

Exceeds expectations Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have two 1235M's in the shack and after 3 years they still exceed expectations. Their compact size makes them very flexible with respect to placement.
The only time I hear the cooling fan come on is when running RTTY, but I do have them placed in a very open area with lots of air circulation. Bottom line they power my K3, 857D and accessories effectively and quietly.

No RF hash from this switching power supply Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I have HF attic antennas due to CC&R's. This puts the antennas in close proximity to my station. Over the years I've tried just about every ham power supply - from the over priced 'matching' units from the name brand ham mfgrs to most of the ones in the ham catalogs. Results have been generally disappointing with switching power supplies. Reading the reviews, I decided to try the Samlex 1235M. I was happy to discover that I had no problems with 'switching hash' on HF (I don't operate VHF so I can't comment on performance in that part of the spectrum.)
The cooling fan did ramp up with some audio noise until I gave it a bit more breathing room and I've not heard it come on since. While your
experience may differ, I like this product enough to purchase a second one for my portable
operations.

Quiet Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have found my SEC 1235M to be very quiet. I have been pleased with the power supply and bought a 1235 and 1223 for my shack (ok it's the dining room...but hey).

Nice size. Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I’ve owned mine for about eighteen months now with zero problems. The one and only time the fan came on was when I was doing a shack re-design and I sat my laptop on top of it. When the fan did come on it was very loud but quieted down after about a minute of removing the laptop. My one complaint would have to be the lack of lighted meters. I’m giving it a five but a 4.5 would be more appropriate because of the no lighted meters.

Much better after fan mod Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
Followup to my previous review. I did perform the constant running fan mod and this made all the difference in the world. Can't hear the fan in normal operation from 2.5 feet away and it runs cool all the time now. Can pull 30+ amps on transmit and it doesn't switch to high speed except on extended transmit use. If Samlex had only done something like this from the beginning.

Still no hash, and I'm very happy with it now.

Solid Time Owned: more than 12 months.
This is a very good power supply, a solid 4 when considering reliability and design. I've had mine running continuously for 2.5 years. Yes, the fan is loud, but if on the floor and out of the way, it's OK.

The 5 rating is per the supply combined with support. I recently stripped one of the output terminal screws. The screws are a little fragile and require care. I called Samlex and they are sending me a new terminal. I was not asked to pay a dime. I consider this excellent service and will definitely buy another Samlex supply as a result.

Loud! Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have had mine for about two years.

Nice size. Attractive. Great power supply until the tower clears it for takeoff. I have been working more cw lately and may need to change it out.

Perfect. Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Now owned for almost 3 years and powering an ICOM IC-735 and an ICOM IC-2100H as well as some small station accessories. Very quiet and runs incredibly cool. At 15 AMPS continuous for 30 minutes I still don't hear the fan come on! I also have never noted any birdies or RF interference from this switch-mode power supply. Great PS and a fantastic price.
