Power with aplomb Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I have a SEC1235M powering my Yaesu FT-897D. This power supply sits quietly and fulfills its intended role in my shack quite well.

Steady power under load, this supply has not spun up its internal fan yet (that I have been able to detect.) It just runs cool. After several hours running, the case is only mildly warm. Now the fan in FT-897 on the other hand, fires up every time I key on FM or AM.

I have no hesitations in recommending this power supply.

LOUD! Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I had read how these are supposed to be quiet. Well do not believe it! After a few seconds of transmitting, the fan roars like a jet at full blast. It is louder than the band noise on the reciever and very distracting. I put a 100 ohm resistor in series with it and wired it directly to the DC output. It's much quieter now but still a pain.
The Volt meter went nuts a few weeks after I got it. It pegs to the right as soon as you turn it on however the voltage output is actually 13.8 as it should be.
Output seems to be clean and stable.
I'm going back to analog and keeping this for backup.

If it fails, Samlex doesn't. Time Owned: more than 12 months.
After 1 year and 9 months of flawless, noise free performance my 1235M became noisy. Not only was it now dirty DC but there was actually an audible noise when drawing over 10 amps.

Since the company offers the benefit of a 2 year warranty I emailed Samlex and got a reasonable reply with an RMA and instructions to send it to them. Two weeks later I came home to a box with a brand new power supply.

I can't imagine anyone in the business that could do better. You won't be disappointed with this product.

Very Nice Unit! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I bought this from GigaParts. I use it to power my FT-950, and have the backup power module attached to my Gel Cell batteries.

I have not had problems with birdies. This supply is small, and light weight compared to my Astron and Pyramid units. More than ample quiet, clean power, with a small low profile unit. I wish I had bought it sooner!

GREAT PS Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Well over a year old and doing the job very well.
Thinking about buying another for camping!

Happy with mine Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
This supply does a good job. The full load ripple is almost non-existant. Meters are accurate. The whole unit has a good solid feel.
My only concern is the fan does come on even with the HF rig in receive mode(about 1.5 amp).
Stays on up to two minutes. Others have reported their fan seldom comes on.

SEC1235 is Good To Go Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I have this power supply hooked to an ICOM 756ProIII and an ICOM IC-7000. After many many hours of listening and transmitting on one radio or the other, I have yet to hear the fan come on. Power is clean and consistent, great value for 30 watts continuous and 35 peek.

Great space saving Alternative to Linear Supply Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
I bought this from Universal Radio, based on this sites reviews and have been very satisfied not only with the performance of this supply but with the fact that it seems to noise free when I compare it directly to a linear supply. During long QSOs I do not even notice the fan cycling on. The only fault I can find with this power supply is the lack of back lighting to the meters, (which I modifed myself and corrected) if it had that as well I would consider it to be a perfect choice

Works Great Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I’ve had mine for over a year, it's quiet and works great. I only wish the meters had a back light. I would definitely buy another if this on failed.

NICE! Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
This is a really great supply! I do hear some kind of a whisle from it on 80 meters though, but it seems to drift around the band. I would buy another one.
